Oh no!
I would bring it there just to see how the long the repairs would take and the repair cost.
Maybe you can make a more informed decision once you have more information.

So sorry that this happened, hope it can be fixed soon!

It will be a replacement of the crystal, not a repair. It's expensive but absolutely doable. That's your option. Any AD will give you the quote and take it in for repair, which can take a while, so choose according to where you'll be.

Yes I had chips on edges in mine, had it replaced in US by an authorized Rolex dealer. Watch still worked but it was unsightly. Can’t remember exact price but I hadn’t it replaced with a tougher glass that was recommended.

Hi i dropped my rolex and cracked its glass has anyone have any experience like this? What did you do? i’m in overseas right now (in Turkey) found an authorised place from Rolex website but i’m hesitant to bring it there. Would i better be bringing it to the Us? Any experience i’d love to hear! I feel so sorry that i did this…

I didn’t even know that was possible. An ad is just as reputable as Rolex which is why Rolex has made them an official ad. The upside of dropping it off now means the time will start ticking until you receive it back.

I would wait until you get home and take it to your nearest Rolex service centre. They will replace the crystal and test the watch to see if there was any damage. It will take 6-12 weeks so I recommend you wait until you get home.

I agree with 336.

Also, another tip: make sure you unscrew the winding crown so that the watch is stopped completely. This prevents the watch hands from dragging any small pieces of glass and scratching the dial.
I did this when my watch glass cracked and Rolex said I did the right thing.

thank you so much you are so kind!

I did the same thing but right after I got it serviced. They will have to service it in addition to replacing the crystal.
Do you remember the cost of service and changing of the crystal?

So sorry this happened. As others have said, I’d wait until you get home to have it repaired. Turkey is an amazing country. However, having been to Turkey myself, I know that some places that claim to be reputable are not, unfortunately. The laws are different in different countries, and if you’ve been to a bazaar, you’d have noticed that fake goods are prominently sold with no repercussions for the seller. I wouldn’t trust that the Rolex dealer is reputable this being the case.
One other thing, for God’s sake PLEASE be careful if you’re walking around wearing expensive jewellery and clothing. Also, be wary of leaving your things in a hotel safe. I’d carry my jewellery and money around with me in a cheap bag with a metal strap, preferably a crossbody.
Turkey is a wonderful place, but as a foreigner you’re an easy mark, so be careful. Sorry I went off topic, but this is important. Best of luck to you.

Hi thank you for your concern, but I'm not a foreigner- born and raised here :) I'm currently in my family summer house no issue here. I found the place from Rolex website but I agree with you- I'll just ask them if they can easily change the glass and then i'll have it serviced back in NYC.

i talked with Rolex NYC and they told me turnaround time is around 6 weeks due to their workload, here its just around a week. They told me I can trust the authorised service center here as well, but I'm still not sure.

You have a family home there? I’m so jealous, I can only wish! God, what I wouldn’t give for a place over there, lolz! I’m glad you’re a local, that makes it so much easier. I’m also relieved you found the Rolex shop on the Rolex website. Tbh, I didn’t even notice that you’d said it.
Bait and switch is a common scam as I’m sure you know, and it’s happened (or nearly happened) to me. I got a diamond switched out for moissanite in my case. Luckily for me, I’d had my stone tested at the same shop when I initially took my ring in to be mended, and I got them to check it when I went to collect it. Sure enough… bait and switch. Lucky I didn’t walk out of the shop, or I wouldn’t have had a leg to stand on.
