mmm...I agree with Shelley M...life IS short...but if you don't have the money right now...I agree with everyone else..do NOT buy it....and I am glad you decided not to buy it....it actually helps me that other people think they way I think: not to buy anything unless you have the money to afford it and savings to back you up...I'd rather have what I really want, and get it slowly....

If you save for it, it will mean more to you in the long term....and when you have the actual cash to pay for it, you should probably be able to negotiate a better discount.... ?

There's a difference between making a fun luxury purchase for yourself and being irresponsible. A $10,000 purchase when you don't have the money on hand is irresponsible. You don't know what could happen in this economy.

As neena mentioned, you may be able to negotiate a better deal when you have the cash at hand. Jewelry stores are hurting and they'll be more likely to discount in order to get some liquidity.

You all have been very helpful. I am going to wait until I get the money in a couple of months, and then buy my watch. Hopefully it will still be there!
