Rolex Dilemma

You made the right choice, I prefer the diamond markers so much more than the Roman numerals. But I love the classic gold watch. I have a two tone from 1981, 26mm which was my first watch many moons ago. I want the same watch in the mid size. I can't justify getting the same watch but bigger, so I just layer bracelets with my 26mm and us it a lot. Enjoy.

Thanks, ladies. I ordered the diamond one today. Will be back with pics!
I would KEEP that watch and get a SS Rolex that you wanted. Made the same mistake with my mom's all gold 26mm, maybe about 8 years ago cause she doesn't wear it and it was a gift for 25 years employment service. She wanted to give it to me but i was too young to appreciate all gold during that time. So she sold it.

Subsequently my husband got me YG/SS datejust a few years after that. Yes, I am still thinking of that watch.....darn! Too expensive to buy a new one today. It was traded in for only USD6K.

I have considered keeping it, but I really don't like the Chevy face. It will be about $2,000 to have the face replaced and another $800 to get it running again. I'd rather put the money toward a watch I love and will wear. I have lots of other pieces from my grandmother that I wear all the time, including my diamond engagement ring, so I'm not sentimental about this particular watch, and anyway, she never wore it (I think she didn't care for the face either). Wish I could just buy the Rolex I want and keep this one, but that's not an option right now. Hope I won't regret it later, but I honestly don't think I will. New watch should be ready by the end of the week.
