ROLEX DIALS - Qs about Salmon, gold, MOP...

Clearly, it wouldn't be considered "100%" Rolex if it had aftermarket diamonds. I honestly don't care what parts Rolex says "should" go with what watch. What matters most is if all of the parts (the case, the mechanics, the dial, the bracelet, etc.) are Rolex. Like I said, I don't return my watches back to Rolex for repair/service, so what should it matter? Value-wise, I see Rolex with aftermarket diamonds selling just fine and at good prices. I don't purchase watches under the assumption that they are any sort of investment. If I buy a watch, wear it for 10 years, and sell it for fair market value, I'm happy.
Now that that's out of the way, perhaps this thread can get back to topic? Yes, I agree with you, jellyv, that the pearl would be prettier with the yellow gold than the salmon:) The pink pearl is interesting, but I'm not sure if I would like it in person. Does anyone have a pink pearl dial? How is the color?
I think you sounded harsh to Jellv. She was just tried informative to you.

^I wasn't being "harsh" but if that's the way it was perceived, then I apologize. I understand perfectly the "rules" about Rolex because DH and I own them. I realize that there are differing opinions on the matter. I can respect her opinion, but the thread was moving in a direction that was not my intention even after I voiced my opinion on the matter. This thread is about opinions of dial color and a good mix of metals/colors. If an individual is bothered by the fact that I'm not purchasing 100% genuine Rolex in their opinion, then that's fine:smile1: I was simply trying to get the thread back on topic.

Hey,

I have the pink mop dial and i really like it, my watch is all stainless steel so I can't really comment on what it would look like with two-tone. I looked for a rolex for a long while and when I saw the pink mop I really loved it and bought it immediately, the pink is really subtle, it just seems to appear different shades depending on how you look at it or different lights, I have diamond markers and I think they look really nice with it as well.

good luck!

^Thanks for your reply. That's kind of what I was hoping with the pink - that it is more subtle. I bet your watch is gorgeous and I'm glad you found one that worked for you:)

^Yes, I know exactly what you mean. I want something that's going to be classic and neutral and I wouldn't necessarily think that pink MOP would be my first choice. There are a couple of Rolex jewelers around here, so maybe I can go see it in person.

I recently traded in my ladies size for the midsize in the same watch, TT MOP diamond dial. I am also very petite (4 11") and after years of wearing a ladies size felt that I wanted to go with the midsize. For the options you have, I love the TT and MOP is my favorite dial but aftermarket MOP does not look the same. I think the TT would "warm up" your other metals and better incorporate your RG then all SS. Salmon dial is nice with SS but not so sure how it would look with TT YG, I'm not sure that Rolex does the Salmon on TT YG, I have only seen it on SS. MOP shows a lot of different colors in it and the reflection of the YG on the MOP makes it look almost a like very soft warm pinky tone in certain lighting. I also like the silver dial with TT which my mom has. I will try to post some pictures for you.

^^ It is white MOP. The pictures were taken in natural sunlight which seems to have given them a bit more of a pink hue in the picture because even the silver dial looks a tad pinkish...
