Ladies, I need your help. My SA offered me a preloved Rolex Datona Rainbow for a very, very interresting price. Now comes the question: But would and could I ever wear it? A few things to consider.

Pros:
The price is really hot.
It is a kind of investment piece that will keep it's value.
Authentic examples with a clean history are rare.
It definitely has a presence.
I always looked at it, thinking this would be the ultimate.

Cons:
Does it really suit me?
Opportunities where it really fits the staging are rare.
It is made from RG that usually does not match my skin color well.
It is so borderline flashy, almost cheesy.
It suits younger women only.
There are so many fakes out there that it's easy to be mistaken.
I have enough watches already.
It's not even on my wish list.

I would definitely appreciate your opinion, I am totally undecided

Oh ... wow. That´s difficult. I believe, that this piece would suit you. BUT: you are rigth. Rare, really opportunities. I can imagine, that this could be a problem. I do not believe, that RG does not match your skin color well. Usually, RG does not match only with very pale skins. You are right, too, that this watch is borderline flashy. But but just this circumstance might be interesting for those who care about this. It´s not a matter of age. We now live in a crazy and abnormal world. People who know you, know that you are not wearing fake watches, so this con is not really a con. If the price is really hot, it doesn´t matter, if its on position 1 on your wish list. Even if you will no longer like it, at some point, you will be able to sell it again at a good price. So there is no risk in my opinion. lovely greetings

No. Too many jewellery pieces and you won’t even enjoy them all. No time, no space on your wrists, no opportunities to show it off. Also it looks super flashy. I’d imagine a Russian oligarch’s daughter shopping at Harrods wearing sth like that. Not in a good way :giggle:

Hi!

It's an incredible watch. Eye candy: https://monochrome-watches.com/rolex-daytona-rainbow-everose-116595rbow-review-price/

Now the fact that it was offered at a very, very interesting price debunks the "investment piece" myth. It's a watch that is hard to sell, and the seller is still getting a cut from that "very, very interesting" price. ;)

The rose gold is actually a real perk. It makes that watch wearable because it's so "tame" in appearance compared to the stones. Especially in comparison to the older models, it's definitely less flashy and in your face. Did I say I love it's appearance?

Don't worry about the fakes or aftermarket modifications. True connoisseurs will know, anybody else's opinion doesn't matter. The way Rolex choses and sets diamonds is more or less unmatched.

But yes, overall I agree, you need to love that watch & wear it - otherwise it's just unnecessary ballast.

But damn, did I say it's a damn hot watch?

Kind regards,
Oliver

But is it really worth it? I just googled it and found some for $ 400k !? For me, this price is completely insane. Basically it's a Daytona with some gems and a few diamonds! I also agree with Consumer2much. It's a bling-bling watch for bimbos. Finally you have to imagine how many other extraordinary pieces of jewelry you could buy for that money.

I can respect your opinion and the fact you obviously don't like this watch/ type of watch. But slurs like "bimbo" get a thread like this simply nowhere and are totally out of place, imho. ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bimbo )

I'd rather see someone happily wearing a watch like this and posting about it, than reading slurs in the direction of the people who do. In essence, its comments like this that keep people from posting such content.

Kind regards,
Oliver

It’s a gorgeous watch and if anyone can rock it, it’s you!

I looked up the watch and I say it definitely depends on how good the price is for starters. I agree that you would have to be careful what you wear with it. One thing I like about my watches is that they all go with everything, so I see why that is a concern. It could be fun sometimes though. I'm not sure. Good luck! Worst case senerio is you could always resell it if it keeps its value that well.
