If it's carried normally, I don't see how Coach can say this is not a defect. For myself, I had a embossed Swagger 37 that cracked in the corner of the edgepaint after one use; when I brought it back to the store, the SA exchanged me one with no problems. And the second one didn't have the same issue. I'm really hoping this is a one-off thing, otherwise it's very upsetting for such an expensive purchase!

Mine definitely looks a little funky in the exact same area and I can totally see it developing the same problem over time. I sure hope it doesn't because I have the suede so unless they do another run I won't be able to get an identical replacement. It IS quite the bummer at these prices to have an issue like this.

Coach needs to be held accountable (as does any company) to stand up to the quality of their goods. The vintage Coach bags are still in circulation and were made like iron!
I do hope the OP's bag is just an anomaly.

Aaawww. Thanks for condolences. Not a big deal so far and even if it does start to come loose, since it's under the zipper I'm not sure how much I will care. Perhaps I could get someone to repair it if/when it starts to become a bigger problem. It is an interesting bag design concept, so I can see how with this particular structure there is extra risk of shoddy workmanship. I wish it wasn't so, but maybe that's the risk you take on with such a cool and unique bag design. Bummer though.

OP, what are you going to do?

I looked and looks like I have three areas like that. I'm going to try and get it looked at this weekend in store. Coach customer service said there's "a few" in inventory at stores.
