I'm wondering people are doing with the long strap? It's thin, and I have a nice collection of wider straps. The non-adjustable ones are all about 105 cm, a tad too long for the height of the bag on me. I keep seeing the long strap styled as tied in a knot. Does that actually work? Seems like the knot would hurt your shoulder.

First day out report:

The bag is brilliant. A delight to carry, over the shoulder, in hand, or crossbody (it hangs nicely against the body but see comments about the strap below). And the leathers used inside and out are amazing to touch. The in/out flap closures work very smoothly and it's super easy to decide on the fly which way to wear it without a lot of agita. I had a bunch of stuff inside it and the snaps were closed so it's capacious without looking bulky.

The long strap is a disaster, though. Way longer than my 105cm H straps that are a tad too long on me with K35s. No adjustment available except to knot it, which I did, and the knot is uncomfortable and will ruin the strap over time. It's _way_ too narrow for a 35cm bag so it digs into the shoulder. And they're not offering straps as accessories! (Leaving money on the table!)

The key holder clochette/charm is also way too long. I'm not a janitor!

The faults are addressable with after-market adjustments so I'm still super happy with the bag overall.

Super helpful!! Thank you.

I am still waiting for mine to arrive which should happen in a week or two, at most.

It is too bad the crossbody strap is too long. I am wary of thin straps for crossbody wear too. I have never found one that is comfortable for carrying more than a few items.

When this bag arrives, I may see how it looks with the adjustable wide straps that I have for my H bags (purchased off Etsy). If the look flows together, then I will get one made for this bag.

Good plan! Can you share your etsy source?

I’ve always used HandCobbler. She has changed her Etsy store a number of times. And this time, I haven’t figured out if she is still on Etsy and if so, what the store name is now.

However, she has her own website which I have ordered from as well.

I have ordered more than a dozen canvas straps from her and she has been wonderful. She will customize straps with the leather type (Togo, epsom etc) and color of your choice. I have asked her for other customization too and she has always been super responsive via email.

You are welcome! I do wonder if the hardware may clash a bit since the Rodeo appears to have aged gold hardware. HandCobbler focuses mainly on H straps so the hardware is shiny. May need to look for a new strap seller myself. 🤦‍♀️
That's my issue too. My adjustable canvas straps from Mautto are very light gold. However, my Prada ones are very close to the color of the Rodeo hardware. Giving one of those a test drive today.

Has anyone seen the small or mini IRL? I managed to snag the last small from Nordstrom but it arrived yesterday and it is the medium:sad: It is a beautiful bag, and Nordies customer service offered to let me keep the medium for the price of the small but it is definitely too big for my needs. Now there are no smalls available and I am crying. Considering the mini, which seems to be a good size in photos but is described as being 9 in wide x 3.9 in high x 3 tall, which doesn't seem accurate...

I saw both in the boutique. The small I was hoping would be my size (it wasn't). The mini is cute but IMO sort of silly because the primary features of the bag that interest me (slouch, etc.) are irrelevant in that tiny size.

Check the details on the Bal website to be sure (sometimes Nordstrom gets things weirdly wrong as you have just experienced!)

thanks. Was the small too small for you? The Bal website has the same measurements as the Nordstrom site fWIW
