...I was thinking about the robot. Is it heavy? You have a closer pic you could post?...

I recently revealed several small items that I purchased as gifts including the new MFF Robot Fob F65429 SV GD that I picked up at the outlet for $16.80. BeachBagGal asked for more info and better pics so I am posting them here, along with a comparison to my original FP Robot Fob 63082 MTI that I bought at the boutique 1.5 years ago for $68.

And I am reposting the photo of a modification that I did to my FP Robot in case anyone wants to try it with the new MFF Robot fob.

First I will share the Coach drill-down images for the 2 Robot Fobs.

I have purchased a lot of fobs, FP at the boutique, FP delete at the outlet, but also a few MFF versions of FP fobs, and some original MFF items. Most of the time the FP and FP deletes are the nicest quality and style items (IMO) but some of the MFF fobs are indistinguishable from the originals or just nicely made MFF originals. But I've also seen some MFF fobs that didn't seem to be as detailed and well-made as the FP items.

But I think that the new, much cheaper, MFF silver Robot F65429 is every bit as nice as my original black Robot 63082. They are both finely-crafted and adorably cute!

BeachBagGal asked for measurements so here they are:
- Both 3 inches long off the key ring
- Both weigh approximately 40 grams (1.5 oz) without the key ring
- Both weigh approximately 52 grams (1.75 oz) with the key ring

So they are heavy but not terribly heavy.

Here are some new pics of the MFF silver Robot F65429. The pics aren't great, it is so shiny that it is hard to photograph (at least for me!) But he's a cutie!

Here is a photo of the black FP robot 63082 and the silver MFF robot F65429 side-by-side and I think that they are well-matched and both really cute!

And here is the modification that I did on my original FP black robot, but if you like it I'm sure it would work just as well with the silver robot. I used a ball chain necklace from another piece of Coach jewelry to turn my little robot into a long necklace. It's a bit heavy but not bad and I have gotten a lot of compliments on him!

I am sure that you can find a shiny gold or silver ball chain strand at the hardware store or online and make the same type of modification with the MFF silver robot if you wish.

They're so cute! Smart idea, about converting it to a necklace.

I'm posting the link below to these great colorful ball and chain necklaces I bought from Amazon last week. I may look for some better quality ones -- some of the bright colors you see here are plastic, not metal...but definitely a steal! Not sure yet exactly how I'll use them -- part of my "hoarder" ways, haha.

I have the robot in the first pic hanging on my Kelsey, but for some reason it's missing the little gold handtag and I didn't realize it was missing the tag on it till I looked at other robot fob's on ebay. Bought it new on mercari for $30.

Very cute, and I love the way the arms and legs of the little robot move to varying positions!

I do to, the spring clasp I feel seems a little on the weak side tho, if I didn't look down I would have lost it one day at the doctors office:sad:. Does anybody else's feel the same?

I haven't had that problem with my black Robot fob but I mostly wear it as a necklace, but I have had a few Coach name tags drop off in the past and that is always distressing.

Whenever I am using a fob that I am worried about losing, I try to add a slim, ball chain of the same color metal as extra security and I use a pliers to gently squeeze the clasp to make sure it is tight.

Another keychain I bought about a year ago also has that same problem with a very loose spring gate. I haven't used it yet because of that, but that's a great suggestion about adding a ball chain as a backup. Luckily the Robot is still available on the FOS until tonight, and $21 (with free shipping if you select "holiday Shipping" when checking out) is still a pretty good deal. I might alternate it as a pendant too. You have such clever ideas!

Aww, thanks! And you talked me into it! I gave my silver robot to my friend recently and she really liked it, but I was kind of sorry to let it go - so I ordered a new one (with free shipping) thanks again!

I posted pics of adding a guard chain as security for an "at risk" fob at the link below. I don't think it looks bad and it makes me feel more comfortable when displaying the fob. The ice skates fob is still very delicate and one of the skates could still get ripped off, but I will try to keep it out of harm's way.

Adding the chain actually doesn't look that really, I don't see it taking anything away from the looks of the bag in general. I'll have to look for some chain now.
