I actually prefer the shorter length for tennis necklaces, as they are able to sit inside shirt collars and still be seen instead of disappearing below the neckline. And while I cannot see this in the photos you posted, I also generally prefer how the three prong looks rounder to me than the four. But I absolutely agree about checking for flipping. Necklaces that flip drive me crazy, so that would be a major consideratation for me.

Both are very pretty! Did either lengths flip? Did either of these settings catch your hair in back? I'm debating the same settings and lengths for myself but in 3 carats for every day wear. 4 prong is more classic but 3 prong is very popular right now. Just wondering if this is a new classic or just a trend.
Thank you! I am happy to say that neither length flipped! I did several laps around the store and both were fine. I also had no trouble with my hair. I ultimately bought the 18" and wore it all day today with no problems:-) I hope you make the purchase! I'm really happy I did.

Thank you! I do think that a shorter length is more classic for these necklaces. However, I did ultimately decide that the 18" was best for me for this particular necklace.i also think my neck is unusually thick and that a longer necklace on me lays like a typical shorter one. If I ever get another (lab) one in yellow gold, it will be a 3 prong:-)

Congrats on a great purchase!! Both lengths were lovely on you! Great to know that neither flipped nor caught your hair. Those are the factors that can't be determined from purchasing online. May I ask where you purchased from?

A local jeweler in Philadelphia.
I can get the SKU number of the necklace I purchased if you want to contact them. Price was better for this 5.6 ct lab necklace than at Whiteflash, Blue Nile, or James Allen. Highly recommend!

I was referring to carat size being too big. I’m on the thinner side, but look
Best with bolder jewelery.
It's completely a personal preference. If you have tried it on and you're happy with it, then great. My opinion honestly doesn't matter nor should it. You have to wear, and enjoy it 😉
