I decided against ordering. I don't feel I always have the best luck with ordering to have it shipped to me. As far as condition etc. I prefer to be able to look in person. So, so far I am skipping ;-)

I have 6 rogue 25s and two of them, chalk tea rose and black snakeskin whipstitch, are 3rd generation. I am not worried either of them are inferior to the others. The 25 is small enough that the extra leather strips on the bottom aren't really needed. But don't keep it if that bothers you too much.

I had a long poke around in the bag, and it's in no way inferior in workmanship or materials to my 2nd gen pink bag. I'm OCD enough to ::: ahem ::: use my baking scale to weigh the two for comparison. They weigh the same! So I will happily keep the bag ::: insert facepalm here :::

Also, I called Coach and was told that they would consider it a "defect" and allow me to return it if I wasn't happy, but the associate suggested, as several TPFer's did, to pop into my local store (there's several in my area), and see if they might have an orphaned clochette in the stock room.

So thank you all for your wise advice and talking me off the ledge!:tup::heart:

I think this may say that you should keep it. One thing that this forum does is cause a lot of "purse envy," lol. I would do as suggested and call Coach or a boutique and let them know you thought you were getting the cloche because it was in the picture and see what they say.

Soooo :sick: much purse envy! And yes, I have followed the advice and called Coach.

Last week I purchased a Rogue 25 in dark denim from the on-line sale. I took notice that the photo showed a 2nd generation Rogue, with a key clochette, while other colors only showed a hangtag, indicating they were 3rd generation. The clochette is one of my favorite parts of the Rogue and Ace, and one of the reasons why I chose the dark denim over the black, which appeared to be 3rd generation.

The bag arrived wrapped carefully and appears lovely and new. But oh no! there is no clochette, and no extra leather strip under the feet. It's a 3rd generation bag! Should I feel ripped off?

I spent most of the summer lurking on the Rogue Clubhouse thread before pulling the trigger on my first Rogue, a hot pink 25 with a sparkly sprinkle of flowers. Have enjoyed it so much that I felt it should have a sibling. And now, reading the many Rogue aficionado postings regarding the perceived quality differences in generation, I have convinced myself I have been sent inferior goods.

If I had not known the difference, I would be delighted with the bag.

Should it matter? Should I care? Where's my dang clochette?!?
For the 3rd generation black Rogue 25 that I was shipped, it is a smidge taller and wider than the 2nd generation Rogue 25. It is about a 1/4 inch taller and about an eighth of an inch wider. No clochette; no leather reinforcements near the feet.
