Rhyder satchel in Mink?

I bought the teal rhyder a month ago and didn't like the sag of it either. I fell in love with the rhyder bronze messenger because it doesn't sag but I'm now on my 2nd and it will be returned as well. 1st one was covered in glue on the bottom and some spots on the front as well as some of the bronze finish already was worn off. 2nd messenger was delivered today and there is about 3 inches on the side without the edgepaint as well as some loose stitches and about a 4 inch thread just hanging off the bag. I've had horrible luck lately with coach (took 3 tries for a decent mini brooklyn). They really need to up their quality control. I've never had so many problems with coach till now. I'm now trying to decide if I should exchange for a 3rd attempt or just give up. I did however buy the python mini crosby and it was in perfect condition.

How frustrating! You have more patience than I do!

Congrats on your beautiful new mink Rhyder! I have the metallic bronze Rhyder and I love it! It's a great satchel and the leather is Just Fine!!
I agree. The leather on these bags is lovely - it is thinner, but it is still good quality. It's just a different type of leather, that's all.

As far as sagging, my suede oxblood Rhyder has a nice slouch to it even when I put my things in it. Unless you pack this bag to the brim (as they do with stuffing for online pics), it's not going to be as structured as it appears at first. I think people are knocking this bag too much, frankly. I love it. True, it's not the same gorgeous pebbly leather as the Dakotah, but it's still a beautiful bag at a (sort of) "decent" price point for Vevers, considering what he's charging for everything else.

OP, the mink was a lovely choice! So are the metallic bronze (i.e., "metallic 'purple'," really), the jade, the teal...I like all of them. I wish the gunmetal was made in the medium size, but so be it.

I'm considering trying one more bag - the dakotah with no fringe in the brown (it doesn't have the chain whip stitch either). But I'd have to order it sight unseen. I'd love to see it first but haven't noticed one on tpf.

Good choice not keeping it. Frustrating ,I know!
I don't like the sag either. That kept me from buying one.
The Dakota's are very nice but I have the Legacy Patricia flap bag's already (and the
y were cheaper price + have adjustable strap.)
So far from FP price, I have only purchased the soft Nappa Borough bags and Bleecker duffle. The Crosby does look very nice too.
I really hope the next floor set has some nice bags.
Can't wait to see what bag you get !

I had a Patricia's legacy a long time ago and got rid of it. I've been thinking how similar the Dakotah looks and even mentioned that to my SA yesterday!

I so wanted to love the Rhyder!

The suede oxblood was one I considered since I thought it wouldn't sag as much. Do you love it?

ITA - there's an epidemic on this board of being sure of not liking bags on order - before it's even in hand. Makes no sense to me.

You have a beautiful bag, enjoy :D

I returned Mink today (sadly) and looked at the Oxblood suede and though I do love it, I wanted something more year-round. It's a gorgeous bag though.

I ended up ordering the saddle Dakotah with gunmetal hw, and I'll get it Friday so I'll report back. I think the fact that it doesn't have fringe or the curb chain or gusseted front pocket will hopefully make it a manageable size for me. I'm taking a chance on it sight unseen, and like my SA said, if I don't love it, it's easy enough to return. If this one doesn't work for me, I'll probably just hold out for something else or buy a legacy bag on ebay. It's really hard to decide on a bag when you can't touch it and try it on.

Hmmm...well, I mean, it definitely slouches (bends downwards) when your bag is not filled completely, so I don't know if you'd call that sagging, really....I do love it, though. It isn't a "soft" bag, though, and does have a bit of structure to it. :) It's very pretty!! :)

Oops! Just saw your updated post. Looking forward to your reveal! And I agree, suede (especially in oxblood) is more fall/winter...
