Hi everyone!

I'm really bad at reviews so I'll try to keep this brief hahaha
So it's been two weeks now since my surgery with Dr Kim and it's safe to say I'm genuinely happy with the results. I know it's still early to tell but I'm loving my new nose and I can't wait for the final outcome!

Consultations
ILAC: I was met with a consultant before my actual consultation with Dr Ju and I appreciated how meticulous he was as he measured my nose and fitted a couple implants of various sizes for my bridge. There was an in house translator and she was great as well! The price was very reasonable too.

Noselab: I hired a translator (Ryan) for my consultation with Dr Kang as he doesn't speak english. Again, I was met with a consultant where we spoke about my concerns and overall procedure, she was excellent but I found that I spent more time with her instead of Dr Kang which irked me a little. When I finally got to speak to Dr Kang, it was rather hasty and straight to the point, where he basically explained how he would fix my nose. I could tell that he was a brilliant surgeon but the vibes were off. The price was astronimical.

1stbutton: This was the only clinic that broke the consultant > doctor tradition as I was met by Dr Kim almost immediately. We hit it off right out the gate as he addressed my concerns and explained how he would solve them as well as giving tailored suggestions while also tempering expectations. I knew he was the one until we got to the price, I was a little taken aback as it was much higher than the quotation he sent me prior but after several talks, with Ryan's help we were able to negotiate down to a price I was elated with. I booked the surgery the following day.

Surgery Day
Everything went well and pretty much as expected, anesthesia was administered and I awoke with a new nose. I was definitely disorientated after the surgery but thankfully Ryan was there to get me a taxi safely back to my accommodation. Packing was removed a day later which I really appreciated as I heard some clinics do this 3 days later which I can't imagine how unbearable it would be. Stiches and taping were removed a week later, after this I was free! It took an extra week to return to normal but I'm feeling much better now.

Conclusion
Dr Kim is one of a kind. Also I can't stress the importance of hiring a translator, even if you think you won't need one. There's so much more that they provide than just translation. You can reach Ryan on kkt: ryankim13 but he said he's working on a website to make booking him much more convenient.

Quick shotout to @matchagreen and @himoon who were instrumental in my preparation for this event, also to the many others who I have met through this humble forum

If you made it this far, thank you for taking the time to read my shpiel!

How long did you have to stay in Korea for rhinoplasty? What price was quoted? Was it basic rhinoplasty?

I've narrowed my choices down to the exact same three (ILAC, 1st Button, Noselab) but I am leaning more towards ILAC because the price difference was pretty big (2.7k USD for ILAC vs 6-7k USD for 1st Button) and ILAC has pretty good reviews here - would you say based on your consult that ILAC would be a good choice too?

oh a 100%, i was ready to jump on ilac if i wasn't able to negotiate with 1st button. although when i consulted with ilac the given price was about 1.5k + more than the original quote which i felt was still reasonable since my case involves a number of procedures

Awesome to hear that you had a good experience ! Curious, what did Ryan say prompting the discount? Aka reviews or was it more than that?
thank you!! so basically we laid out a price below my budget and were able to explore options based on that, so in my case i wasn't able to use my rib but it knocked off 2k usd right there so i was fine with it. also i gave them permission to use my ba pics with my eyes blurred for a 5% discount, without eyes blurred would be 10% and 1st button doesn't offer discounts for reviews hahaha
it really wasnt difficult though as dr kim was very flexible and I felt like he genuinely wanted to help me even though he's still running a business, really solidified him as my choice

Hey, when you say you weren’t able to use rib, are you using donated fascia? I was quoted about $6.7k USD for donated fascia (don’t want silicone). I was wondering if u have found any research online about using this bc everyone seems to be using rib cartilage.. but $11k USD is just too much for that. just don’t know if it’ll reject in the future or has high risk for infection or resorption etc results impacted.

i didn't use donated fascia either so my bridge was totally unaltered, risk of infection is low but theres still a risk. i believe you'll be fine though!

Can I ask why you weren't able to use your rib? Was it due to cost or issues with the condition of your rib?
