Thank you for making this thread! I’m looking for a place to do facial lipo, buccal fat removal and fat grafting so super thankful for new input on clinics as I really try to steer clear of the factory ones. Best of luck with your surgeries and wish you have a speedy recovery🙏🏻Sure. I've been to a few, but my recommendation would depend on whether or not you know what you want/need and how long you're staying in Korea.
As with plastic surgery clinics, there are big skin care "factories" in Korea too. You book your treatment online, show up, and they do it for you. They offer consultations, but the consultants aren't specialists, so they'll just be recommending treatments, and not diagnosing your skin issues. You generally don't have a private area, and you'll be in a room with several other people on beds, hospital ward style, getting skin treatments. If you're getting lasers, injectables, etc., a doctor will come and perform the treatment. But they're all young, probably fresh out of university, and probably not dermatologists. You don't get to consult with the doctor either. They just show up, do it, and leave. You have to wash your own face at most of these places. You get a locker for your belongings, and most places had grooming stations with Dyson hairdryers to make yourself pretty before you leave. Most of these places have their prices online too, and in multiple languages, so it's usually very transparent.
These are the ones I've been to. Most have multiple branches, so I can't speak for all of them.
Muse Gangnam
I'm here once or twice a week, just to get something, so this is sort of my baseline to which I compare other clinics. I like the oxygen facial for 39,000, though I don't feel like it does much. It just feels nice on my face. This is, on average, the cheapest of all the places.
Ppeum Gangnam
I didn't go to Ppeum until a couple weeks ago, but their new building is huuuge and fancy. It's factory-style, but you get a private room, which is nice. It's slightly more expensive than Muse, but the experience is nicer overall. They have really impressive facilities.
Toxnfil
One of the original skin clinic franchises. I forgot which branch I went to, but it was okay. Wouldn't be my first choice, though.
You&I
I went to the one at Sinnonhyeon Station by myself, and then another branch with my friend. Completely different experiences at both! My friend had a consultation with a lot of upselling and ended up buying a two million won package. My experience was pretty standard. Maybe they don't try to sign up tourists to months-long treatment programs. The facilities were nicer than Muse, and a bit more expensive.
Jfeel Hongdae
This was the first factory clinic I went to, and it really threw me off for a bit. It was a little weird getting an Aquapeel two feet from someone else, but you get used to it. Dentists are like this in Korea too! Jfeel was okay. I later found out one of my idol friend got fillers done here, so maybe it has a good reputation? But it's far from me so I wouldn't make the trip just to go there.
Lienjang
A bit more expensive than the others, and they have a plastic surgery clinic too. They're doing a big revamp and merging the two locations later this month.
Me Clinic
Okay, this is technically not a factory clinic, but it operates like one. They have actual dermatologists, but you don't get to consult with them beforehand. They do a lot of marketing towards foreigners, so they have procedures that other clinics don't, like vampire facials. They do cleanse your face for you, though, which is nice, but they charge you twice as much for it.
The Heal
I went here once, and it was a boutique dermatologist experience. But when I went to make a follow-up appointment a few weeks later, they said the English-speaking doctor had left the clinic. I'm not sure if they found a replacement since then.
Ever Skin
I didn't actually go here because they weren't accepting new patients. But it's popular among expats in Korea.
Banobagi Skin
This is right across the street from me, but they were a bit pushy in recommending one-day packages, and they weren't cheap, so I didn't end up going. There are lots of reviews on YouTube, though.
Feel So Good Dermatology
Probably my favourite out of all the places I've been to. The doctor is fluent in English (most doctors in Korea are very conversational in English, but it's nice to be able to talk to someone), and you get to consult with him directly. So you get a treatment plan from an actual dermatologist who performs the procedures himself. The staff don't really speak English, but you can manage. The downside is that it's not cheap, and they don't do tax refunds.
Renovo
I consulted here but didn't get any treatments. They also tried to sell me on one of their one-day packages.
Renewme Seocho
There are a few Renewme branches. It was a nice experience. You get to consult with a doctor, and they take a photo of your face and do a skin analysis to see what needs improving. I didn't get any treatments here. (But I suppose you could just do the skin analysis and get recommendations, and then get the procedures done somewhere cheaper.)
negotiating prices, it helps if they like you. If you're at a clinic with a translator, it also helps if the translator like you. After all, they know what the person before you got ch
Thanks so much for all the detailed reviews. I will be in Seoul 5th March and currently these are the clinics I have on the list for f2f consultation for primary rhino: BT, 1st button, Uverse, the Plus. But I want to add more on the list to hear as many different opinions as possible to decide. My biggest concern of my nose is: wide alar and bulbous nose tip, I also want to increase the bridge height a bit. 1st button is nice (via online consultation) but I'm afraid the result might be not too visible from the front view (as I have quite wide alar), I like natural style in general but still a bit of moderate dolly look. Have you decided which place to have rhino? ThankssHappy new year, everyone! Just a few updates since I've consulted with some other clinics recently. I'll post a review of my surgery at 345 and BT later when I have time to write it up.
Top Face
I consulted with Dr. Lee who specialises in non-implant rhinoplasties. The translator here is super nice and bubbly too! I liked my experience here, but reflecting back on it, I wonder if the doctor's style is a bit too dramatic for me. He's the only doctor to recommend an alarplasty and epicanthoplasty. I had a friend who did his eyes here, and they were very pretty, albeit a bit "done." For a guy, at least. Maybe the style would suit girls more? I'm not sure.
Standard rhinoplasty (silicone bridge + tip): 4 million won
Bulbous nose + alar reduction + fascia: an additional 3 million won
(There were a few different configurations on how to do my nose, since I didn't want to use silicone).
Facial fat grafting: 1.6 million won
Double eyelid surgery with ptosis correction: 2.2 million won
Medial epicanthoplasty: 900,000 won
Prices are cash only. They add on 10% tax if you pay by card.
Wonderful
They were really busy here, and a bit salesy. I think the consultant I spoke with had previously worked with Oli London, though she wouldn't confirm it! They specialise in eyes, but I saw a few locals with casts on their noses too. This is the first place I went to where the doctor used two pokey tools to style the eyelid crease.
Non-incisional double eyelid + ptosis correction: 2.5 million
Silicone bridge + septal/ear cartilage rhinoplasty: 3.5 million
They pushed pretty hard for me to put down a deposit on the day to secure a surgery slot. And I might have had done my eyes here if they could've squeezed me in at an earlier date, even though they were a bit expensive. That being said, they didn't seem very discreet with patient information. That's probably a red flag.
Atop
I consulted here for facial lipo. This is the only clinic where they did a CT scan to look at my facial fat for the consultation. They pointed out the scar tissue from where I had had chin liposuction before, but only above the muscle. I still had fat below the muscle, which they specialise in. They also showed my hyoid bone placement, which can limit the results of chin lipo.
When she started writing down the prices, I thought she'd forgotten a zero at first.
Jawline lipo: 500,000 won
Under muscle chin lipo: 200,000 won
Platysmaplasty: 2 million won
Standard rhinoplasty: 2.5 million
+ bulbous tip: 800,000
+ septal/ear cartilage tip extension: 800,000
I would have done facial lipo and platysmaplasty with them if they had the availability. They said it would only take an hour, but they were fully booked until after the holidays. Oh, well. There's always diet and exercise.
Vibe
Vibe hired an outside translator for my consultation, even though I think the consultant sort of speaks English anyway. I feel a bit bad because I guess it must have cost them money. But it was nice of them! I was sure I had seen this consultant before... I wonder if I'd previously consulted with her elsewhere and she'd switched clinics recently.
Vibe also specialises in chin lipo, but the doctor said it was too soon since my last procedure to do it, so we just discussed rhinoplasty. I had just done my eyes, and my nose was all swollen. My nostrils looked really asymmetrical because of the swelling, and the doctor was coming up with a surgical plan based on that. I should've planned that out better. They didn't have any surgery dates available, so I didn't pay much attention to the price. I think it was four-point-something-million for my nose? They asked if I'd like to put down a deposit for the next time I'm in Korea, but I passed.
VandS Clinic
This is a skin clinic, but I had an awful experience here, so let me rant a little. I went to the Myeongdong branch which caters to mostly tourists, and boy do they try to upsell you on everything! You know that sales tactic where they start off with a really high price so you'll be more amenable to the middle ground pricing, even though it's still more than what you wanted to spend? I'm annoyed just thinking about it.
I had gone in wanting to get Inmode FX and Forma, which they have as a package deal. The consultant talked me out of doing Forma and got me to do Shrink instead, which is of course more expensive. It's more than I wanted to spend, but whatever. When I went to do the procedure, the doctor ended up doing both FX and Forma on me, anyway. Then, while I was still lying down in the bed, the consultant came up to me and was like, "Hey, sorry, you only paid for FX but we gave you Forma as well, so you need to pay the difference." Excuse me? You performed a treatment on me that I didn't ask for, and then have the audacity to charge me for it? I don't know if this was an honest mistake on their part or if it's some elaborate scam they pull on tourists. The sad thing is I cancelled an appointment at Abijou to go there. I should've just gone there instead. Don't go here.
I'm so mad!
Dr. Choi is nice! He "put on" a British accent for us when I said that he didn't sound very British (he grew up in the UK). He was very thorough. I got to ask a lot of questions and take some photos. But one of the staff called him on the office phone towards the end, and the consultation didn't last much longer after that. The staff don't speak English (they use Papago to reply to messages), so it might just be language barrier issue?I am considering Wink for eyes so this is really helpful! May I ask if you would pick Wink? What kind of vibe did you get from Dr.Choi? Was he patient and thorough during the consultation and not rushed?
I also read somewhere that the staff there is not very kind and friendly :/
I also wondered why you didn't go to Marble? I read some good reviews from the clinic
I really liked 1st Button and Dr. Jeong at ThePlus out of those. I consulted with Dr. Jin at Wave twice, and tried to book my surgery there after the second time, but they turned me down because I almost died after my previous surgery (it's a long story). I'll probably go there the next time, though. Thanks so much for all the detailed reviews. I will be in Seoul 5th March and currently these are the clinics I have on the list for f2f consultation for primary rhino: BT, 1st button, Uverse, the Plus. I had a couple consultations booked in before I got to Korea, but mostly I just messaged the clinics on Kakao or WhatsApp, and they could fit me in within a few days. The only one that couldn't was 1 percent, with their month-long wait time.Did you book the consultations in advance?
Hi! I’m getting my rhino there on March 27th! I’ll let you know how it goes. I’m nervous and excited.I am 55 and want a facelift, necklift and revision rhino. I also have been told I have ptosis and need upper and lower blepharoplasty. I have enquired about my case to Seoul Guide Medical who recommended Dr Choi Min at Answer Plastic Surgery and Dr Choi Min is the only doctor so there is no chance of ghost doctors. Has anyone heard of Seoul Guide Medical and Answer Plastic Surgery? A I am nervous about booking the surgery from abroad since I have not met them in person but I also want to make sure I am efficient and get my surgery on time since I only have 2.5 weeks in Seoul. Any advice would be very appreciated. Thank you!
I'm planning on booking my FC and genioplasty with 345 and I'm curious to hear about your experience at 345! Why was it a whole thing?I went to 345 for my genioplasty (which turned out to be a whooole thing), and I just got my eyes done at BT a couple days ago. But I have mixed feelings! I might do separate write-ups once I've had more recovery time.
For nose, I've mostly decided on Wave, but that'll have to wait for my next trip. I also consulted with Top Face, Marble and Wonderful for eyes and nose. I'll write up those experiences later!
I have another consultation with Faceline on Monday for Acculift, and I'm trying to get an appointment with Vibe for facial liposuction too. Ajour Clinic also has really impressive lipo results, but they're a bit far away. Online reviews are positive on results and price, though, so I might see if I can make it there before the holidays.
I've also been to a lot of skin clinics and dermatologists, if anybody is interested in some of those recommendations.
