I agree, it really does have an edgy vibe to it, which makes me want it more. I’m looking forward to seeing more images of it though and to see what strap it comes with (if any?).
Atleast it’s if a January 2025 release I have time to save as I thought I was at bag peace.
Can I ask why you’ve never used apple guard on your bags? Just out of curiosity as I see so many people recommending it. I used it once on my Carry It straps but haven’t been brave enough on anything else
I too used Apple garde on my balenciaga bags and it discolored them! I was soooo angry at myself for trying. 😕I will never touch Apple garde ever again.

First, it isn’t necessary. Second, as @viewwing has experienced, it can be damaging beyond repair as LV won’t take it back.

These are luxury goods that are meant to be durable and last immediately from the point of purchase. It doesn’t need “protection” after you bring it home. It is sustainable and meant to be passed down through generations. No aftermarket diy products are ever officially recommended for these reasons and can be potentially the reason why future servicing from the brand is refused. Hermès will outright refuse further spa treatments on any bags suspected of abuse, alterations, or third party work (this include sprays). Canvas monogram pieces are already inherently waterproof which is why it was used originally on the trunks for trans Atlantic voyages. Natural vachette is a very high quality smooth, blemish free leather that is meant to patina gracefully and then be replaced as needed. Patina in facts makes the leather more resilient to stains and scratches. Your naturals oils helps but these artificial sprays hinder the natural process of resilience. Folks who demand treated leather are letting companies off the hook as they can get away with using blemished pieces (considered lower quality) at higher prices.
This is why I have never done anything to my bags regardless of canvas or lamb skin or whatever.

Can someone give me the cliff note version on this video and her opinion(s) discussed?
Sorry for the late reply but @keishapie1973 summed it up nicely. That is the gist of it. It is a runway piece that may not even be mass produced and only perhaps arrive in a handful of stores anyways so the decision to buy may not even present itself. I still think it is pretty to look at though.

Like I said, it is her channel and she can say whatever she wants in her YouTube video. To each their own.

Good to know  Thank you!

Just watched Marquita LV’s latest post and so happy to see we are finally getting a reserve monogram speedy 20 without any collaborations. I almost didn’t recognise it as a speedy 20 though due to the added hardware, but it’s stunning piece in my eyes
Looks like the price is high though and causing abit of a stir? What do you all think?

Hi @Shaddix13! I think it’s a great piece as well - Nicholas has been making “soft trunk” bags lately. This speedy seems to fall into that category, and they are also trying to up their luxury game with prices to match!! I have fallen to this strategy 😀, though I loved the soft camera box bag in reverse mono, it didn’t sing to me. This speedy to me is fabulous, like you I think it’s a great reverse piece that is different than anything else.

The soft trunk strategy worked on me - they dropped a soft camera box bag, all black leather with edgy silver hw and studs and a kick a*s chain on 5/17 and I was a goner! (The hardsided bags though lovely, would yield bruises and scrapes for me 😆). I do adore LV trunks, but they aren’t practical for me (maybe someday with a large trunk as a conversation piece table given a large enough money tree 😀😀😀) the soft trunk inspired bags are a nice way for me to enjoy a “trunk” without a trunk.

You will have a bit of time, but if you find it stunning it might be worth it. I went back and forth on my purchase given the $, but knew I would completely regret not having this bag. I know it’s not the lovely speedy under discussion, but it does share some common features, and this is the first bag in awhile that had me at first peek in the dustbag!! I adore black and silver and edgy, this was it. Sounds like maybe the reverse mono upcoming speedy is it for you too!

Good luck as you consider and maybe prepare to add it to your collection. The only thing that matters truly is if you love it, I don’t worry about others opinions when I buy what I love, we each have our own unique styles and rock them well, especially with so many choices available. And one thing we all have learned, LV prices aren’t going down!! HTH :flowers:

That Camera box is gorgeous! I saw this just after I brought my black and silver hardware side trunk, otherwise I would of been tempted but this myself :giggle:
I think the speedy will definitely be a statement piece instead of the usual casual vibe with most of them, but that’s fine with me.
Let’s see how much I can save and how much LV bump the price up before it’s released then :panic::panic:

Oh that’s right! You already knew all, that I remember that beauty. 🤓 That’s a gorgeous piece, hope you are loving it. “would have been tempted myself” truer words! They drop so many things, thanks goodness for people like @Emphosix that have been so kind to share upcoming drops.

And now you have a chance to prepare for that speedy statement piece should you decide. I think it looks lovely - it caught my eye during the show. Let’s hope they don’t bump the price too much!! :flowers:
