Congratulations on your new solitaire! The setting is simple and elegant. It does not compete with the diamond for attention. Yet coming together, they become something that is greater than the sum of their parts. Beautiful ring! 
We decided to look at getting me a new diamond. I checked and went with Ame's cheat sheet and I am thrilled.I ended up getting a 1.60 AGS 000. I quickly realized after searching and having the cheat sheet numbers next to me, that the vast majority of diamonds we were looking at were outside of the range. Here is some pics: Be warned: pic overload.
I am so happy with this ring. DH couldn't believe the sparkle. I had an OVAL so maybe I am not used to this kind of sparkle. But I can't keep my eyes off. Hehe!
