This bag is on my wanted list. When I saw it in the store it looked very boxy. Yet when I see Crosby bags here they do not. Is it because you have to clip the thing across the top to give it the nice shape I see in photos. Leaving it open, which I often do, appears to change the shape. I really love this bag and am very tempted to get it but wanted to ask this of you or Crosby owners
I remember your comment about it being boxy when you saw it in the store, and was a little concerned about that while waiting for mine (since I hadn't seen any of the Crosby's in person yet). I decided to take a chance on it since a few other TPF'ers seemed to love theirs.
I like it better on me with the sides tucked in, but just went to see how much of a difference having the top magnet closed makes while carrying it. When carrying it as a satchel by the handles, (sides tucked in) if the magnet is unfastened, it doesn't make a lot of difference because the handles still bring the top together somewhat. I'll probably carry it mostly as a satchel, I tend to do that with larger bags (using something small like the mini brooklyn for shoulder or crossbody).
If I were wearing it cross body or on a shoulder (with the long strap) I think I would fasten the magnet, but that's more of a security preference than anything ... the bag hangs open a bit more when carried by the long strap, and since I had my wallet stolen out of an Isabelle that was open on the back of my chair in a restaurant ...
I think about those things now! I hope that helps a little and that you love it if you decide on it!
When I carry mine on the shoulders with the strap, it forms a crooked shape with magnet and without magnet. I think it's because of the way the straps are placed as they are on opposite sides diagonally. If they were symmetrically placed at the sides like most normal bags, that wouldn't be a problem because of the stiffness. But alas, they can't do that coz it just won't work.
So you just have to live with it. In the end, I carried it by hand or the crook of my arm.

Ok I just bought this in the Mini, had the week from Hell at work, you could not imagine. I felt I needed a pick me up and got the mini. The Coach Store honored the Macys VIP offer of 20% off. Just hope L&T does not have a friends and family at 25% and no tax for me but like I said I needed it now!!! Very happy with the Mini and don't think it looks too small as I am only 5'3" and only carry essentials. And it is not really an everyday bag so I am ok. Like the zip top but no feet. Does have a dustbag though. My preference on the Crosby is the "wings" and some have it and don't on the larger size. But I am tempted to get the teal. The colors are absolutely amazing and the python for this does not seem as prone to peeling. I think this is it for me for the SV current floorset unless I cave and buy the teal Crosby. Although I am very interested in the Red Currant Soft Borough coming out sometime this fall. Anyone wanting to buy now, my advice though is to see if Coach will match the Macys offer which goes until the 21st. Heck 20% is better than nothing
