Return to Tiffany: Love Bugs

I saw the collection in real life and I was hugely disappointed. I planned on purchasing the green quartz ring. Unfortunately, the true color is a very very pale gray green, not pretty at all. Worse yet, the actual stone was cut poorly and has a huge window that you could look right through, similar to the ring worn on the previous poster earlier.

Finally, I am a big fan of Tiffany and for silver, I love Elsa Peretti. Her silver looks solid and pops. This collection looks like thin cheap silver to me. Very disappointed.

That’s too bad on all fronts! I too loved the green quartz in their ads but have to agree with you :(

Hi friends, I come here for advice. I wear Tiffany jewelry which has been given to me as gifts but I’m a complete novice when it comes to jewelry. It’s not something I pay attention to and am happy wearing what I attain by way of presents.

But, you know how this story goes…

I just happened to walk into Tiffany and I just happened to see this ring and I just happen to really like it. It’s whimsical and big and cute.

I would wear it everyday. Just for the fun of it. (No rings currently, I keep my fingers free, so a statement piece may really suit me. I’m pretty bare other than handbags i.e. no make-up, stud earrings).

You guys have reined me in before, is this one of those moments.

Is it too childlike/too infantile?

TIA

I think it is very unique. I don’t see this as an everyday piece, but as gorgeous special outing piece! Is this your style?

To me, the ladybug is extremely juvenile. I actually saw these on facebook the other day and thought that they look like children's jewelry. Whether you feel you can make that work in your favor, depends on your overall style and how you emotionally feel about it. I will say though that I don't love the 2 individual spots on its wings as they read like eyes.

I like the butterfly one that you show in the previous photo better as there are no "eyes" staring at you and butterflies are less firmly in the pre-school category of fashion items. Butterflies are more age-versatile. Still youthful but not toddler-youthful.

Again though, some people can make something deliberately childish work really well for them. Just depends on how you carry it off.
