Hi All,
DH  gave me this beautiful bracelet for our Anniversary last week! I have been wearing it every single day since, so basically I have worn it for 7 days straight. I am concerned because it looks like it's been in a war....the hearts are all scratched up, it looks like it's a couple years old already.

Does anyone else have this collection and have you noticed that it looks terribly worn right away? It's so new, I had hoped it would still look new longer than a week. Honestly, when I opened the lovely blue box it looked like someone had worn it already.

TIA...any advice, information on this line or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

That is a very pretty bracelet. I have the Return to Tiffany heart earrings and the necklace. I know what you mean about it looking worn. I found that having the pieces cleaned really helps it look new again. I honestly don't wear my pieces that often and they still look a bit worn.

I am not sure why it looked worn right when you opened the box, though. That doesn't sound right. :confused1:

I have the Return to Tiffany bracelet too and even if I don't wear it often, it does look a bit worn after wearing a few times (scratches, a little bit dull). I agree with Shelley that having it cleaned will make it look good as new.

However, if it looked worn right when you opened the box, I would immediately take it back to the store and tell them the issue. Whenever I get stuff from Tiffany, they are usually brand spankin new sparkly and clean...

Thank you both for your posts, I wanted a second opinion because this is my first jewerly from Tiffany. :cloud9:
I totally agree it should look brand new! I will call and tell them about my issue and hopefully I can get this resolved.
Thanks again!

I have never seen the bracelet, but I bought the earrings for my daughter. They looked shiny and perfect when she first opened the box.

I think my bracelet should have been shiny and perfect too! If I take it back it will give me an excuse to go into LV and look at all the gorgeous purses! :p My ulterior motive!

Sterling silver will definitely tarnish and get light surface scratches with wear. A polishing at Tiffany's does wonders for this - the item comes back looking brand new! I get good results with an at home polishing using a Tiffany's cloth or the silver polish they sell, but find the items don't stay tarnish-free for as long as they do when Tiffany's polishes them in - house. However, your bracelet should look brand new when you first get it- call Tiffany's and see what they say. Their customer service is usually quite good, in my experience.

It should have looked new when you got it, but I do think the hearts on that model are going to hit each other and get damaged quickly anyway.

I have a heart tag bracelet that has been worn for about 10 years. It is so worn that the tip of the heart is thinner than the rest of the charm and the solder is chipped on some of the links. However, when I polish it with paste silver polish or have Tiffany clean it, it still shines back up well.

I'm glad I found this thread. I have a return to tiffany braclet and necklace that I have stopped wearing because they look worn. The hearts on them are all scratched up. I unfortunately don't have a tiffany's near me to get it polished. Do you know if I could use a different polish on them? I really would like them to look nice again so I can start wearing them.

Hi,
I purchased a Toggle Heart bracelet from Tiffany & Co direct and had them engrave it.When it arrived it was in appaling condition.Could hardly read the engraving where it had been so badly scratched in the machine.Numerous emails and phone calls,U.K.customer services didn't bother replying.I eventually wrote to Tiffany in New York, only then did i received reply from Tiffany UK.I returned the bracelet and they promised to hand engrave it.The bracelet was then returned to me with a link missing!!First one i returned had 24 links, the one they returned had 23.They couldn't explain the reason for this and just told me to send the bracelet back again. After paying over £200 i expected better from Tiffany.I bought a bracelet to wear not to keep returning to them!!
I am now wearing a bracelet that sits oddly as it has uneven number of links...i just couldn't go thru more hassle with Tiffany sending it back yet again.
I would never buy from Tiffany&Co again!!
I hope you don't have the problems with them that i had!
Opai x

OMG Opai what a huge mess you went through! I am so sorry!
Honestly, I was surprised at the condition my bracelet was in when I opened it. I hope I don't have the trouble you had with Tiffany.

gabz I think your right it could've been a display model, that would totally make sense. When I opened the box you could make out fingerprints on the hearts and tiny scratches. Either it was the display or someone wore it and returned it. Even then you would think the SA would clean it before wrapping it up! :nogood:

luv, elle and Snow: I will definitely get a cleaning cloth for my bracelet and see what happens. It's very disappointing because I truly just expected outstanding quality from Tiffany.

Sweetwon good question maybe someone on here can answer it for the both of us! :confused1:

Thanks again for all the advice everyone! I will keep you posted on what happens..
