Hey everyone. I worked for 34 years and have been retired since 2015. I bought a monogram bum bag for my casual lifestyle, but wonder if it is too show-offy to be carrying out in the world. I’m on a fixed income now and feel a bit self-indulgent and self-conscious, but love the bag.

Wear your bag and enjoy it. From 2015-2020 I lived in an area where designer bags were few and far between. I was very self conscious at first, but I buy my bags to carry them in my daily life. Very few are left for special occasions. I just accepted the fact that I would be the only one carrying LV, etc. A bum bag is very utilitarian no matter the brand. FWIW, I bought 2 LV and 2 Chanel during that time period. Needless to say, I got over my self consciousness
You deserve to enjoy some luxury, have a good time carrying the bag! 
Usually it is ourselves only who pays so much attention on what we wear/carry.
Other people normally only notice what kind of energy (elegant/classy/traditional/sporty/casual/etc) you put out there.

You love it but your self conscious? That doesn’t really sound like you love it. I really don’t see the big deal in wearing what you want. I really don’t think other people care what we each carry.
Life is short. Wear and enjoy in good health 
Congratulations on your retirement! After working for so long you deserve to wear what you want whenever you want! Since you understand the limitations of your now fixed income, you can appreciate the luxuriousness of your bumbag. So, why not enjoy it and wear it?

You're so lucky you're retired. I wish I could retire but have a long ways to go. Rock what you love. Who cares what people think and I'm sure they probably aren't giving it a second thought.
You worked hard all your life and finally you got what you love and deserve. Enjoy and wear it in good health. As so many stated above, no-one cares or judges what anyone wears. Its only in our head. Remember confidence is sexy! Rock that bumbag!!!
Wear your bag proudly! You purchased a quality, stylish accessory that will last you for years. No one will judge you.

Don’t worry what anyone else thinks. The bumbag is such a great choice and really complements any casual outfit. If you decide that you don’t feel comfortable using it though you can always sell to Fashionphile or other reseller, probably recouping your investment.

Life is too short to be worried about what other people think. As long as you can afford it, I dont see a reason why you can't treat yourself a bit. At least that is my moto.
