Response from Balenciaga about the leather tag and patch

i just kept the leather patch inside the bag... who knows? customs might come looking for it??!!!

Maybe to prove the type of leather they have tests that they perform and need a sample of the leather used to make the bag.....? Hence, the extra swatch of leather...

The leather patch is for customs? I don't get it - I though Balenciaga only shipped within the U.S., so why would there be customs issues? Or am I missing something here?

My understanding is that the metal tags are no longer made of silver. I still think that these City/Planets have a leather tag so that you can't return a differnt bag.
Even though Bal on-line only ships within the US, the bags are still made in europe so they would have to clear customs before they went to the Bal warehouse in New Jersey.

i received a ruby red city 08 and black GGH city 09 from bal and it has leather tags. i thought it was odd cause i thought only city w/planet had leather tag. these 2 citys don't come with planets.
