I just saw your new turquoise baby in the addictions forum!!! How much more was that one than the MOP? I couldn't believe how the price jumped from the MOP to the turquoise when I was looking at them in Naples, FL... great call about looking at NM though. Our big Canadian jewelry store Birks carries the line - I wonder if they ever have incentives. I've realized I either want the 20 motif one or the 10 plus matching bracelet ... I really don't love "chokers" on me at all - find it uncomfortable to have it too close to my neck - and the salesgirl in Naples suggested buying a bracelet and 10 motif necklace and linking them together... what do you think of that idea??? You seem like the resident VCA expert! Thanks!! Jen
Surfergirl: Yes, the jump to turquoise is steep. If I recall, I think it's now $13,400 vs. $9800 for the gold/MOP/onyx. Of course, when I first fell in love with the turq it was $11K, so there you have it. All the more reason to start with one of the other three first & make sure you wear it as much as you think you will. Then if you still pine for the turquoise...
Re the bracelet + neck option, I do know that people do that. It can be good option for some, but make sure you really like the options. When worn together, the neck will be shorter and you need to be sure you like what 15 motifs looks like. Otherwise I'd say you're better off spending another $2450 and having what you really want. Also to consider is if you would you wear the bracelet separately? For me that's a no, as it's a little dainty for me, but lots of people do like them.
Since you don't like chokers, I guess buying 2 10-motifs isn't attractive to you. I always thought that would be a good way to spread out the expense. One 20-motif is exactly twice the cost of one 10-motif. Maybe you could buy one and someone could buy you one as a gift???
