Recto Verso SLG - Thoughts and Comparisons

I went in store to take a look at the Recto Verso empriente leather and the leather feels much more plastic-y vs my empriente Zoe wallet. What are people’s thoughts? Has the leather gotten more supple over time to those who currently own it?
I preordered this adorable SLG! I think it's terrific and perfect for smaller bags like my Vanity PM and Multi-Pochette accessories that I ordered it for. The canvas on mine is in fact not plastic feeling as you've mentioned. IMO, it's a beautiful soft and vibrant mono canvas. I use all the slots for my most used cards and ID and the zipper compartment for my folded up bills and some coins occasionally. I tuck the key chain into the snap flap because I have no need for it. If you overload it with cards it can become stiff to get into the zipper compartment or snap pocket, but I didn't buy it for that. It's perfect for what I bought it for. My only fear is that LV will release a reverse monogram version too!! It's a thumbs up for me!

Sorry. Just reread your post. You were asking about the Empriente leather version. That leather will soften up. You'll have no issues there.

I have it in empreinte noir and I really like it. I don't use the key thing but I like that I have the option. It holds just enough and I like that I have some organization and don't have to shuffle through my cards to find one. I also like that I can pull a card out of the back without taking it out of my handbag. I used the empreinte cles as a wallet and it probably holds the same but this has a little more organization. It just sorta works for me right now.

The leather is soft and I love the way it feels in my hand. It is expensive and it's not perfect but it works for me.

I bought the Recto Verso in both mono and empriente a few weeks ago. I haven't used the mono yet and I may return it. I chose to use the empriente first because it seems to have a bit more give. So far I am thrilled with this slg! It fits all of the cards I need, plus my key fob. It's perfect for when I just need to run into the store.

The neo cardholder was in stock over the weekend. I managed to buy it and will be delivered on Thursday. I will compare this with my reverse cardholder and see which one I will like best.

i was wondering if you liked the neo cardholder more? I just got the reverse cardholder a few weeks ago because the neo cardholder was not in stock. But I was looking for a flat cardholder to carry more cards and some cash and I think the neo is what i really need

I own the following SLGs already.
-clemence wallet in DE/rose ballerine and cles pochette- I’ve had these since 2016
- Rosalie coin purse in mono/RB, 6key holder mono and reverse cardholder - got them recently.

Do you think a recto verso is worth adding to rotation? I carry 5-6 cards on a daily and also around 5-6 pieces of bills

I’m obsessed with mine. I put in every handbag as my go to piece. For my small bags it’s more like my wallet. For work and my everyday tote style bags...it’s my grab easy piece for all the things I use most. License, debit card, keys and most used cards for work. If I want to run in somewhere without my purse I have all those things and there is room for cash. I have a cles, 6 ring key holder and other card holders but this one is my favorite!! I have the mono, I haven’t seen the empreinte in person.

I have the empreinte and I absolutely love it. It's small but holds the right amount for me and holds my car fob. Absolutely worth it. Plus, it's super cute.

I own empreinte and mono, and I use them in rotation with my compact capucines. Recto verso has 3 card slots, with empreinte having more give so you can squeeze in two cards per slot. I wouldn't squeeze a second card in every slot though, since it makes it really stiff and hard to get a card out. There is a pocket/slot underneath the slots, but I don't keep cards in there, since it's easier for things to slip in and out. The zippered portion can easily carry 5-6 bills. You could squeeze a small key fob into the pouch too.

I use my recto verso for small errands and with my small bags. If I'm using an open-bag or "pit-bag" (neonoe, artsy, otg -you get the idea), I use my recto verso too. I just hook the recto verso onto the handle/hardware. It makes accessing cards easier, no digging required.

If you don't have any compact wallets or cardholder-type slgs, recto verso is "worth it," whether you use it once in a while or often. It's very compact and can carry the essentials. I wish LV came out with this years ago when I was still in uni.

I second your experience. I got mine when it first came out and I love it. I carry four cards on the outside, things like AAA insurance card etc. in the zipper part cash in the front snap pocket usually just a couple of 20s and I don’t ever put my keys on/in any kind of key holder so that’s not an issue for me. If I have it in a bag i use the key holder to clip it in place. I like how flat it is because I can slip it in a pocket for dog walks. I do think it is overpriced, but LV has really raised all prices so many times lately that is their norm now. It’s kind of nice to truly be LV satisfied (for awhile this time I think!). But if you don’t carry a lot in a wallet I think this is a nice piece. I also love my coin card holder in mono eclipse/reverse and those are less expensive than the recto.

would you say the RV is better than the Coun Card Holder? I’m really torn between the two.

Not the person you asked, but I picked recto verso over coin card holder because of the keychain. I like that I can just attach it to my keys and be on my merry way. No need to wear something with a lot of pockets, or to bring a small bag. I also have a lot of deep and/or pocket-less bags. The keychain lets me attach the wallet to the handle, so it's always quick and easy access.

I don't mind paying more money for convenience that fits my lifestyle and what I like/look for. I have plenty of compact wallets and card holders that are keychain-less, so I didn't see the point of getting another one. I know I already don't like digging around for my things, so I jumped at RV and have been very happy since. Bought another one within two weeks of my first, because that's how well it works for me. If you know you prioritize easy access and will use the keychain, I would get RV. If you don't see yourself using the keychain, ever, get the coin card holder.
