Dear Hermes Fairies,

Will be going to Osaka, Kyoto, and Tokyo next week.
Could you give recommendations about finding birkins and kellys ?
Are they really easy to come by even from resellers?
I've saved the ginza and shinjuku map from the other post :p

I never been to Osaka or Kyoto so I can only comment on Tokyo. Hermes shops in Tokyo usually have really good inventories. You must go to Hermes Ginza. I would say they have the best inventories out of all Hermes shops in Tokyo. You should visit Marunouchi shop as well. It's smaller than Ginza but I like the Marunouchi shop better than Ginza as it feels brighter and easier to look around. I also like Hermes in Shibuya Seibu and Shinjuku Isetan. There's also a small shop in Ritz Carlton in Roppongi but you have to make an appointment. Not sure about resellers or any other Hermes shops in Tokyo.

Hi, a colleague on the hunt for a Birkin was at the Ginza store last week and reported that the birkin and Kelly inventories have been wiped clean at the Ginza store. Hopefully they have new stock by the time you are in Tokyo, and definitely check the store at Takashimaya in Shinjuku - you might find something there. Good luck.

A friend told me that her mom goes to Tokyo (from HK) to get her birkins. She doesn't like having to kiss up to SAs in HK. She gets them from authorized dealers that are not Hermes boutiques. One way to find them is if you're staying in a 5 star hotel, ask the concierge for a list of recommend dealers. You will have to pay a premium though but no question about authenticity.

I suggest you 2 ways.First is to come directly at the H boutique yourself as many's suggestions as above or another is at reseller and to make it easy,please do your homework first by finding a few of Japanese magazine like Brand bargain or Brand Joy and trying for the average pricing of the bags you want(eventhough i can't understand any of them in japanese but i found it's very useful for checking their reputations and pricing.)HTH;)

I was just in Osaka a month ago and most of the resale boutiques I passed in Shinsaibashi had a lot of Birkins in stock. There's also a few near Umeda station. Like duomo_rosewood mentioned, check out Brand Bargain or Brand Joy first - if you read Japanese, it will also give recommendations for which stores to try.

i will check the stores and resellers too before leaving
i'm dying to get myself some bags. will do reveals when i do :blushing:
osaka is my first stop. i've told DH to look for my bags first before going anywhere else :angel:

Hi girls, I just came back from Tokyo and the birkin hunting was very disappointing! I have been to the Hermes stores at Takashimaya, Isetan and Ginza and I was shocked when I saw no Birkin on the shelf. :wtf: GRRR... I went to the same stores 2 years ago and there were plenty of Birkin!!!

So I guess Tokyo is no longer the Birkin Paradise.... :push:

I just came back from tokyo yesterday, score my first birkin 30 ( etoupe togo) in Hermes Ginza :yahoo:. New stock just arrived on 1st march, saw many orange boxes transfer to the bag floor on that morning. No birkin or kelly display yet and so just directly ask for and the super nice SA ask which color and size I want. She then show me a 30 gold swift and etoupe togo. She said they will receive stock from paris every month. So i guest better go there in first few days of the month. A lot of lindy display with various colors and size.

Are there shoulder birkins in stock? Will be there in october. I know it's still more than 6 months from now but would really want a dark blue or maybe red SB2 and am wondering if it's a regular item in japan.
