Rather strange store experience

On a brighter note:). And how things do not make sense anymore. By all means, I am not a VCA VIP client or someone who buys regularly. I purchased my first 20-motif necklace GMP/WMP/Onyx 13 years ago. A year later, I bought another necklace, two motif earrings, a ring, and a pendant. 5 years ago, I purchased 2 10 motif necklaces. Some pieces were from the NY store when it was still a part of Bergdorf Goodman, and some were from my jewelry SA in Neiman Marcus. Then I stopped the VCA frenzy:). A new VCA store had opened in a mall next to me around a year ago, so I decided to stop by as I have only been to the NY flagship store in the past. I walked into a store in ordinary jeans, a modest sweater, no jewelry, and a no-name bag (I do have a pretty extensive Hermes collection, but I always create an understated look to see how SA will treat me :)). I was greeted warmly, asked by SA what I was looking to buy, and offered an espresso. I was honest and said I was not looking to buy anything now as I already had pieces I loved and enjoyed. At this point, I did show my new lovely SA pictures of me wearing VCA jewelry at different events. I left a boutique on a friendly, formal note, only to get an interesting e-mail from SA offering me to bring all my jewelry to the boutique for a new value appraisal for home insurance purposes, which I did one month later. Without buying anything, I got an offer for SO, which I took, and I am waiting for my new earrings to arrive in 2024. I also got an offer for HP last week, which I will look at next week. There is no logic in what happened to me in the VCA boutique, as I was not buying anything, nor did I pretend to be someone mega-wealthy with an unlimited budget. So, miracles do happen in the VSA world.

I’m sick of this journey bull****. This isn’t Hermes. They shouldn’t be playing these kinds of games. Personally, I feel like most of the SAs my husband and I have dealt with were rude in correspondence. They’ve only been nice when in store and buying what is present in front of us.

Thus far we’ve never been able to repeat buy with one SA because we don’t live in the cities where we shop and later correspondence is frigid.
Terrible and no excuse for this behavior. Their job security depends on YOU, as a customer.

I wouldn’t shop anywhere where I felt the service was unfriendly. The item would be a reminder of that.
im sorry this happened to you. I would write a letter as per @etoupebirkin
I do remember the entire experience with most purchases. I love antiques and can almost always remember the details of most purchases. Even if not that expensive, I remember who I was with, where purchased etc. I recently met the nicest SA in London VCA. I ended up purchasing a beautiful necklace from him shortly after my return. Will always remember him 😌. I would not want to recall not being treated properly. Sorry this happened to you.

Funny story and off topic. Sorry moderators. Feel feee to delete. About five years ago I purchased a used Mercedes. No one had bothered to delete her computer history. I am assuming the previous owner was a woman as she had clear directions to Short Hills Mall. I am in Florida so I had to look it up. Saw it was in New Jersey. I also loved her programmed music. I thought to myself. I would love to meet this person!

Wow. I was a little anxious for my first VCA purchase in NY but they were friendly! The other purchases I made in VA but I had a great experience there too. Hoping it’s the same when I try to make my next purchases and has not gone downhill. Overall Cartier has been ok too except for one incident out of my 5 purchases.

I also have bad experiences whenever I went in store. I guess I don't look rich enough to them. When i pulled up my sleeves to try on a bracelet and they actually looked at the pieces i was wearing, their ENTIRE demeanor changed. Funny thing is, i purchased 2 of my pieces in the second hand market, because i have the money but dont want their games. Rolex is like this too.
