Is anyone a old VCA client and not feeling the love with the new "system"? I had a really rude exchange today at my local store. I came in to purchase a YG Vintage Alhambra pendant with diamonds, but they didn't have it in stock. The SA was particularly snotty and didn't offer to put me on a list, etc. Is this the new system? Are pieces that difficult to source? I couldn't believe how rude and condescending this SA was to me. It's not like I came in off the street looking disheveled. I already have a nice stack of high end jewelry, so I was astounded by how cold and condescending this SA was to me.

I was put off when I called a boutique about whether an item is available and I was told to keep on the journey and build my profile and then maybe more things will become available. Mind you this was a piece put onto their social media as well as in a hardbound catalog sent to me; if they wanted to keep it exclusive to higher spenders than me, then don't show it .

It's very distasteful to me, and that's not how I work.

I was just astounded on how rude the SA was. The gentleman at the door was the kindest. Offered me a water while I stood on line. I couldn't believe how passive aggressive the SA was. I'm glad I'm not a huge fan of the brand, but I was interested in a $8k piece. I would probably have received better treatment at Zales

@partialtopink I'm sorry to hear that you had this experience. This wouldn't make you want to return anytime soon!

Having a friendlier SA might really help in this instance. Depending on where you are located, perhaps someone here can make a recommendation?

You could also try the phone customer service option. Sometimes, they can locate a piece for you (although I believe you may need to have made a VCA purchase at some point in the past to do an order by phone.)

I have this pendant myself and love it...if this hasn't turned you off too much, I hope you locate one successfully!

I’ve had similar experiences. I have an expensive collection and they treated me like dirt under their shoe. They would make comments behind my back about me using the same handbag, one time an SA told me “I thought you were a model, then I realized you’re too short”, like why say that? You don’t know what people’s insecurities are and you as an SA should want to make people feel more confident. The online boutique is equally as bad, one of them wouldn’t tell me which store had the item in stock and the reason was “because I can’t”. I love VCA pieces but they’re dishonest about what they have in stock, and the SAs are rude to the point that it’s now a universal experience seemingly!

Yeah, I was told that too about something and it’s like… No. I refuse to do that for any item, it’s why I don’t have a Birkin. I am anti-authority so when these SAs act like that, I end up hating the company

Same here. I refuse to lick their shoes for a bag. You know, some people purchase luxury items because of their career or business. In order to proof that they are successful in what they do or for easier socialising with their clients or business partners, they NEED the bag. Those who don't NEED the bag for their career or business, there's really no need to bend left or right for this so called 'offer'. Are you working for Hermes or what? 'Offer' me a bag as if offering me a job? Well, maybe it's like a membership fee. It's like an Hermes Country Club.

Oh my goodness what on earth?! I don't think I could continue shopping in a place where the sales people act like this.

I respect those who do that as it's their money and they can do whatever they want. Me, though? No thanks... The bags mean nothing to me. I also feel that some of those who own that bag see others as 'lesser' because they were offered the bag and we weren't... I'm hoping that VCA doesn't end up in this same path of building up relationships with SAs because I don't like any of them.

Exactly! I have something I have a deposit on and feel that I may just cancel the deposit and stop shopping there. I love my VCA pieces and wear them everyday, but the SAs are not nice. I believe in universal law and therefore believe that they won't experience karma because I'm still doing sales with them and am allowing them to disrespect me. So, the only solution is to just stop shopping in the stores...

Fortunately, I haven't seen this trend trending in my local vca stores probably because there're many vca stores so there's strong competition between SAs.

However, I did encounter some SAs that were less accommodating and liked gossip. For example, they would indirectly try to find out where you live, your occupation, where you hang out etc. I always dislike this kind of investigation from SAs because I am there for the items, not there to share my whole life story with you. When they know I usually purchase one or two items annually, they just lost interest. It's fine for me as I am not there to please them. I'm responsible for my finances and why should I empty out my pockets to please them? Plus, when you buy luxury like it's normal daily expenses, the aura of luxury just lost so what's the point of luxury?

I'm happy with the current SA because she makes me feel like it's ok to purchase one or two items annually and she's very patient.

My only response to the SA that spoke to you is “get over yourself”.
