Hi, anyone have both the Randonnee and the Sac Shopping tote? Or have just one or the other? If you have both, how do you use both or are they redundant? I realize one is more of a backpack / sling and other one is a tote, but if both used for the same reason, is there any particular advantage to using one versus the other?

If you have only one of the two, how did you choose?

I'm curious if/how/why anyone is using either or both of these bags.

Thank you! :)

hi I just bought a pre loved LV shopping sac and I have to say I love it! I got it for a great price (Everything But the House) and its in excellent condition. I am a big bag person and it holds a ton. I like the pocket and it holds all my work stuff and its very carefree- its my first canvas bag (I've been using a Empreinte Neverful everyday for the last 2 years).

I just googled the Randonnee- its a backpack, so I guess it depends if you are a shoulder tote person or a backpack person. I am not a backpack person so its an easy choice for me.

good luck!

I used to have the Randonnee years ago, and loved it. I regret selling it after all these years. My mom had the shopping Sac and it just wasn't for me. It's really big and flat, if that makes sense. Great for carrying magazines when you travel, but not really practical otherwise. Two totally different bags.

I own the Mono Randonnee GM and the Sac Shopping. The GM is like a large bottomless duffle. It gets quite heavy when you sling it over your shoulder when filled (not so practical when you need to reach for things quickly). It's more like an accessory luggage piece to me. The Sac Shopping is more useful like a tote, with interior phone section and pocket so it's handy. The drawback to the Sac is that it has a wide opening so it can't be secured. Here's a pic of my Randonnee :

Thanks for the reply! Did you use the Randonnee for everyday use or mostly travel? Why did you regret selling it? Thanks again!

I used it for everyday, pretty much. I have always preferred bigger bags, but at the time I was working in retail and it just wasn't practical, so I sold it. I didn't travel much back then (this was back in the late 90's) because my daughter was born in '99, so it just wasn't convenient. At the time, I was using nothing but a diaper bag and I had a lot of LV and Chanel bags that I ended up selling and definitely regretted selling my Chanel bags, but sold a lot of great LV travel pieces as well. It was something I did on the spur of the moment because I had a newborn and felt guilty for having so many luxe items. Live and learn lol.

Thank you so much for the reply. It's good to know it can be used for everyday use as well! So many of us feel guilty about our luxe items! I know I do, too. Some people say get rid of things if you're not using them, and then others express regret after getting rid of them. I think I'm in the second camp! Yes indeed, live and learn lol! :) Thanks again for responding for giving me your input! Very helpful! ♥️
