Rag & Bone Pilot Bag

I just didn't figure out for what I should use the back pocket, it is too small for the iPad and you can only put thin stuff into it, because otherwise it is going to bulge and doesn't look as nice anymore. I also haven't found any use for the two front pockets, but I think this will resolve itself over time.

I put my wallet in my back pocket. but I also have a one of those long and thin zip-around wallets. I like having easy access and not having to fish for it among all the other stuff thrown in the main compartment. it's the same thing I do with the back pocket of my ps1. I haven't used my pilot bag to travel yet but with the ps1, I love sticking my passport and boarding pass in the back pocket when I'm leaving a plane and will need to get it out several times for immigration/customs/security, etc.

I also haven't ever put anything in the front pockets yet. I'm thinking stuff I don't use a lot like headphones and travel tissue packet.

my favorite thing about this bag is that it's super light. I use it when my arms & shoulders need a break.

So I am having this bag now for about one week and I am really loving it! It is very well processed and the leather feels soft and very good.

It is made of "100% Lamb Skin with 100% Cow Hide Detail". The hardware is made from "solid brass and will naturally age over time".

It comes with an Authenticity Card and the serial number is also printed inside the bag, directly under the "Rag&Bone" logo on the front of the inside zipper pocket. (I hope this does add up, I am not a native english speaker but I try to do my best!) There is also a little label on the inside of the bag which says: "Rag & Bone - New York - Made in Italy".

At first sight the bag looks a little bit small but it is actually pretty roomy. I could fit all my stuff in it without any problems. An iPad fits perfect inside and there is still space for other things, like the US Vogue and some make-up. ;)

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask me. :smile1:

And sorry for the bad quality of the pictures, but I think they serve their purpose. :smile1:

Ohhh, thanks for the pics. I love the look of this bag in your pics, it does look a little less structured than the photos on the R&B site and I like the less structured look. I nearly bought this on pre-order, but felt the large might be little too large for me (at 5'3") and the small is just smaller than the size bag I like to carry. Would love an in-between size, but may get one anyway!! Love it!!:hbeat:

Bumping this because I saw the new Navy color of this bag in person yesterday and it's really cool-looking! I couldn't warm up to the first colors enough to splurge on this bag, but the navy has me thinking about it again.

Question to those of you who have had one for a couple of months now: how is the bag wearing? Do you still like it?

greetings folks! i was just at the r&b store today to try on the bags. i asked the lady how weatherproof it is, and she said one of the salesgirls wore it to nyfw during the blizzard, and it held up pretty nicely.

i found the navy to not really be a TRUE navy, but more like a dark royal blue. the bag in yellow seemed more muted to me too. i tried on both sizes and the small seemed too small, and the large seemed too large (i'm 5'2"). i could see the large fitting a change of gym clothes. the saleslady said she carries her laptop around in it. the small seemed pretty roomy too-i could see the contents of everything i could carry in my regular sized minkoff mac in it with room to spare.

unfortunately i didn't take any pictures. the salespeople said that they MAY make a medium size for fall/winter, and that the navy and yellow colors are selling out fast.

i was really tempted to buy it, but i'm worried about its staying power. i feel like maybe i should save up for a bag that has legit staying power, but i really love this one. any thoughts?

the only legit staying power that matters is how much you love it; do you think you might get tired of it?

Thanks for the review - I wondered about sizes and colors it is hard to tell sometimes from pics.

I really like it, it seems like an enduring type of style .

I thought the same thing re. size -- the large was too large and the small was too small. I'll be interested to see the medium if they do come out with one. It is a very cool-looking bag.

I LOVE this bag but haven't seen it IRL yet. I originally thought I wanted yellow in small but I'm thinking about the large in MOCHA. I think the pockets make this so practical! I'm a little bummed that I don't think this would fit my 13 in MacBook Air, but that's not a deal breaker.

So after using the bags for a few months do you still like it? I cant decide if i should exchange my Alexander Wang Rockie for the Rag & Bone pilot in small. I dunno why I can't stop thinking about this bag!

so i've had this bag in large navy for about 1.5 months now, and i've been using it pretty much everyday. i really love it! it holds alot and the pockets are super helpful.

today on my way to work, the strap broke! i guess that's what i get for using it nonstop. the hardware on the straps fell out. i've attached a picture of the side that broke, and how it should look. i was really disappointed cause the saleslady told me that the same hardware is used for airplanes and it should hold up to heavy items.

i called the store in soho during lunch, and they said they would give me a new strap. i'm going to pick it up tonight after work! here's the hoping that the old strap was just a lemon!

I have a large black pilot from Barneys and love everything about it. For me it is not too big at all - looks wise - and carries a bunch!
It has great textures with the two different types of leather. Great pockets, lightweight, semi structured style, awesome rolled handles with optional shoulder strap.
Loving it!
