Questions - how to care

Congrats on your first LV! Great choice.

I wouldn’t consider selling only to buy again. The prices for these pieces will only go up, and sometimes PAs can be difficult to find! If you’re happy with it, definitely keep this one.

The gold tone hardware will chip and tarnish eventually, unfortunately, but this can be replaced. Certainly the zipper pull can be replaced free of charge at an LV store, and possibly the clip too.

I wouldn’t advise treating the vachetta with anything at all. You should be fine, the quality is generally very good, but there is no such thing as a 2 year warranty. Just use the bag, love it and enjoy it!
Have you had experiences changing the zipper pull in store? Was it on the spot or long wait?
I received my monogram MP in the mail after being on the wait list and the zipper pull came with a tiny chip on it and some tiny scratches - the rest of the Mp was fine so I didn't want to return it to wait for who knows how long before it came in stock again.

I have had a few zipper pulls replaced on key pouches etc in store. I always visit the store in Edinburgh for this, and it's a small, relatively quiet location. I have often had this type of small repair done same day, not always while I wait but I have been able to return later in the day to collect. Same goes for hot stamping, but it's just your luck how busy the boutique is when you go in, or if the person/people who do small repairs are in. For example, with my TP26 the entire zipper had come off the pouch, not just the zipper pull, so it had completely lost its functionality and as it was several years old, I fully expected that I would have to wait for it to be sent to France to be evaluated and then I'd have to pay for a repair. However, the leather goods manager was in store and he very kindly repaired it there and then, and I waited approximately 20 minutes, good as new. I find LV generally give great service but of course you may have to wait if the store is very busy or if they have a backlog of customers' items to deal with.

You'll definitely be able to have that zipper pull replaced at no charge, and if you live near a store even better, because you can just drop it off and collect it when it's ready.
