Hey,
I got the Pochette NM in monogram canvas today!
I am very excited since this is my first designer bag.

I worry about a lot of things. Whether it may be better to sell it and buy it again on some day.
But on the other hand this is the only item I really like and it is kinda special - just turned 19 - first favorite piece..

I am anxious about the gold hardware scratching and turning silver! Can someone calm me down? I do not plan on wearing it daily and I want to be very careful. So it should not really turn silver right?
The other question is : should I treat the vachetta with some sort of spray or something? The SA said she would not recommend it but a lot of people recommend it. I do not mind a pretty patina, I just want it to be even..

Can you guys give me some tips. On how to keep he PA in excellent condition over the years? Everything you know. About the canvas etc. also.

A friend also said to wear it as often as I could for the first 2 years since I have warranty. So if it is bad quality, It will show up and I can return.. but I am still in school (germany lol) and I do not really have many places to go and to wear it right now..
Does that even make sense? I feel like If I wear it as often as I can and something happens it is just my own fault .. idk LOL. Can you give me some help? Tips? It should not be bad quality right?

Sorry for my panicking, I just saved up for this bag and it is a special moment haha.

I have added pictures made by the SA. Will add new pics as soon as the PA arrives.

Congrats on your first LV! Great choice.

I wouldn’t consider selling only to buy again. The prices for these pieces will only go up, and sometimes PAs can be difficult to find! If you’re happy with it, definitely keep this one.

The gold tone hardware will chip and tarnish eventually, unfortunately, but this can be replaced. Certainly the zipper pull can be replaced free of charge at an LV store, and possibly the clip too.

I wouldn’t advise treating the vachetta with anything at all. You should be fine, the quality is generally very good, but there is no such thing as a 2 year warranty. Just use the bag, love it and enjoy it!

Congrats on your first LV bag! The PA is hard to find, so I wouldn't sell it. Prices seem to be going up every year. The Vachetta will darken over time. It's a natural process. Just remember to keep it away from water, hand lotion, and hand sanitizer.

The hardware will scratch but it won't turn silver, I have mine for 6 years now, haven't babied it for a sec.
The leather got a nice patina. I don't recommend any kind of treatment for the leather, just use it, a quick cleaning with a baby wipe from time to time is more than enough. The worst case is that 10 years from now they will replace the leather for a few hundred euros.
Just as the guys said, there is no warranty, that is an urban myth. Vuitton only offers official warranty for watches. And yes, very good advice from @brnicutie, keep it away from hand creams and alcohol-based products (like vodka or hand sanitizers).

Congratulations on this beautiful and incredibly user friendly piece. It looks perfect from what I can tell. Yes the vachetta leather will naturally darken a bit with exposure to light and with general use but this is a good thing. Once it has a bit of patina it will take care of itself so to speak if you happen to get the strap a bit wet in the rain etc. I use my pieces carefully but without fear. These items are meant to be enjoyed. I am always careful not to touch my bag with wet hands from sanitizer and I don't use hand lotions. Like Bull said occasionally wiping the bag down gently with water and a soft cloth or with an alcohol free wipe will help remove dirt and oils. I also recommend non LV straps (ex from mautto) you can get for crossbody use if you want additional carefree strap options.
Congratulations and enjoy this great piece!

I have a question though, the SA told me there is a warranty of 2 years and I have heard other people out of my country (germany) write that too when they sell their LV stuff online.
Maybe this warranty thing exist when event the SA said that? Here in germany

Congrats on your new bag! Try not to worry and enjoy your item. Marks on bags are memories. I have a few rain spots on a Nevefull that I use for travel and it reminds of the trip and when the rain drops fell.

I have personally used AppleGuard on a few of my bags with vachetta and I don't regret it.vI watched videos, read a ton on how to do it, and decided to used it with my Noe due to the massive amount of vachetta on the base of the bag. I would probably not go to the trouble with a pochette, but you certainly could if you wanted to.

Life has many ups and downs-let your new bag be an "up" and embrace the fun!

Love the living hell out of it! I know it is difficult, but do not worry about using the item. Enjoy it, you've worked too hard for it to just let it sit in a dark closet or just have it for decoration.

Anyway, some treat the vachetta with I believe apple guard. I have never used it, though have seen some convincing results on Youtube. For me, I have just let the leather patina naturally. I tend to hate uneven colors however, so I would be more conscious of what I put on my hands (lotion, hand sanitizer, water after washing hands) before touching the handle.

I’ve never heard of that. It’s not something that LV offer in the UK or from what I know from this forum, elsewhere. It’s true that they will generally repair an item at no cost to the client if, for example, there’s an issue with the glazing while it is still relatively new, but I think this is at the store’s discretion. Certainly there is no timeframe for any sort of warranty or guarantee. Some other small repairs will always be free, like having zipper pulls replaced, for instance. I actually took my Toiletry Pouch 26 into the store expecting to have to pay for a repair but they were able to fix it for me in store there and then, and they didn’t charge me for it. I think it depends on each individual case. It’s very strange that an SA told you that there’s a 2 year warranty, though. That’s a new one to me.

Is this bad?
It doesn’t really make sense to return right? They probably won’t give me another one ?

I can definitely see what you're referring to, but I think it's a question of whether it will bother you. Should a brand new item have a stain on the leather? No. However, the vachetta will darken naturally and chances are you won't even really notice that mark anymore. I think you're quite within your rights to return it if this is how it came to you, but you'll have decide whether you want to wait for another one. If they're able to offer you a replacement right away, then sure, exchange it!

I've had brand new pieces in the past, purchased both in store and via the website, and they've arrived with hairline scratches on the hardware. I've seen from other members' posts here that a lot of items come with the sticky blue plastic still on the hardware, which I personally would prefer, to eliminate the possibility of tiny markings on the hardware which are pretty much otherwise unavoidable. However I think this is not the norm, at least where I live. I think I've probably only received one or two items that still had these coverings intact, and never at the store have they given me my item like that. Maybe I should specifically request it! I have never returned an item because of tiny markings, it's not perfect but as long as there isn't a major flaw or a defect with the item I'll keep it, generally. I guess it's up to you to decide. You've every right to expect a brand new item to be exactly that, brand new.
