Mine is a tangled mess, but I love it that way. I have been wearing WG pave sweet earrings + 6 motif bracelet with Tigers Eye 5 motif and Bulls Eye Holiday pendant lately and I think the mix and match of color and sizes goes together really well!
Yes!! They look gorgeously carefree on you. I love a good mess with the mix of metals. It’s so easy and effortlessly luxe. You can tell when people wear mixed metals they love every piece they are wearing.

Thank you! I absolutely agree. It makes me smile every time I see them, even though the combination may not make sense to everyone. I see I see a celestial combination of icy starshine sparkles and warm golden sunbeams combined in the colors!

Do you happen to have any photos handy of your SO WG carnelian with the WG sweet? I bet I have it saved somewhere if you posted it! I just love your WG collection! 🥰

@NK321 and @hers4eva , full disclosure, the motifs flip. And sometimes it bothers me and sometimes it doesn’t. But mostly I don’t really look at the bracelet that much. I just like KNOWING it’s on. KWIM? I’m in my PJs and I like having one VCA piece on that I don’t ever worry about. The only time I feel like I need to take it off is when I’m running. I will wash dishes, shower, lift weights, vacuum whatever with it on
I love that! I saw the 16 motif and pendant in store today and the sparkle is so lovely! I did notice that the 16 motif flipped a lot.

You know that’s why I think I want the onyx sweet studs since I decided to keep them on 24/7 with a pair of my diamond studs in the back. Then I will have a VCA piece on me all the time. I just like that idea even though know one knows what VCA is where I live. Me and my Hubby only knowing makes me happy! Same as Hermes no one knows I carry an H bag but boy am I happy

When I get my sweet pave ring that too will be on 24/7 even better I can see it yay :yes:unlike ears

I don’t hear much talk about resizing the sweet pave bracelet. Did you make yours smaller?
Yes, shortened to max

I have had my Sweet Alhambra Onyx earrings for about 2 years and for a while (till a few months ago) I wore them 24/7. They go with everything, are really comfortable to wear and felt really secure.
The stones and the front of the earring still look like new - but I have recently run into two issues that made me stop wearing them all-together:

1) Biggest problem is the stud click mechanism/groove on one of the earrings just stopped working one day. I almost lost the earring twice when it randomly fell off. Thankfully this happened at home! The first time I thought I must have caught it on something which made it fall off but the second time I was really careful and it still fell off - upon inspection I discovered that the earring backing no longer clicks in securely and is pretty loose on the stem. I didn’t put them on and off often so it wouldn’t make sense that they would be worn down. I no longer wear them for fear of losing one.

2) While the front of the earring is in perfect condition, the yellow gold on the back side and the backing have become discoloured. I have cleaned it and have brought it in to be cleaned by VCA which didn’t help. I don’t care too much about this but it might bother other people. I haven’t had this happen with any of my other earrings from different brands so I’m not sure why it’s happening.
Still love them and will go back to using them after getting the backing issue resolved with VCA.

Thank you so much for your post and pictures

The discoloration doesn’t bother me.

Do you think VCA will resolve your earring back soon? Will they send you a new back? Will they charge you?

Of course! I hope it helps.

I haven’t taken them in for an assessment of the backing issue yet, not sure if it’s a problem with the backing or the grove in the stem itself.

Either way I believe this to be a defect - will see what they say when I get a chance to bring them in. I haven’t had any interactions regarding any quality issues with VCA in the past so not sure how it will go.

I would get your earrings check regardless. Seperately I would get different backs. I bought the ones others recommended here off Amazon and they are SO much easier to use and they are very secure. Way better than the VCA backs. I do not sleep in earrings any more as my holes are ripping as I age when I sleep in earrings. The Amazon backs make it so easy to take on off. Here is link for those interested:

Hm, I have VA earrings and sometimes I forget to wash my hands after applying makeup and put on my VA, later found some very slight colour changes to the 18k gold edges of VA. It's my bad so I won't call them defects.

For earrings that have been worn 24/7 and have interacted with shampoo, face wash and body oil etc, there's a chance that they change colour.

Maybe it's just me but I don't expect my pieces to stay pristine condition after years of wear. For pure gold or silver, they can still have patina throughout years of wear. That's the charm of putting everything into use instead of keeping them in a box.

The colour change is understandable, although it’s strange that it’s not a consistent phenomenon with items from other brands (same type and karat gold).

I wasn’t referring to that as a defect though - the defect is a backing that stopped keeping the earring secure, which shouldn’t happen.

I don’t think anyone expects well-loved jewellery to stay “pristine,” but when people invest in higher end pieces there is an expectation of quality and longevity. People look to experienced jewellers to make items with long-term appearance in mind.

I personally love the look of worn gold pieces with all their small imperfections…if they still look ~nice~. An interesting example is the Cartier love bracelet, it looks great brand new and with use all the little scratches blend together to add some character to the piece. Some other items just begin to look like cheap costume jewellery with time and that’s not worth the money.

Not sure why vca uses la pousette backs for some of their earrings. It seems like butterfly backings ( used by some other jewellery brands)last longer for daily wear.

It seems like the cost and longevity won't match up. They are not going hand in hand. I had experience in wearing pure silver, pure gold and 18k wg from non branded jewellery shops and it seems like those live up to your expectations because I used to wear those for years and it's very low maintenance except maybe once or twice, the chain needed to get fixed, that's all. Maybe those will not let you down. I used to wear a pair of fresh water pearls with butterfly backing from Tous and it lasted more than 10 years without any repairs and I wore them 24/7 without taking them off except for occasional cleaning. Yes, maybe try those brands.

Do you mean Cartier pieces or VCA?
I don't have experience with Cartier.
For VCA, I have been following vca for more than 10 years and still like most of their designs. For pave pieces, I like how they fit each small diamond seamlessly. Anyway, buy what you think is worthy.

I don't get that either. The la pousette backs are so so tiny and it’s so hard to press the two sides in.

VCA won’t switch and give us butterfly backs instead of the la pousette for the sweets?

Even 18kt earrings can get a tarnish look, this happened to my Cartier earrings. Cartier told me I could send it to them for X amount of dollars. The pricing was too much in my opinion.

I opted to use a polishing cloth at home, and it removed everything. However, don't over polish them as they do remove some gold. It's probably similar to what they would have done! LOL

As for the Pousette backings, I love them and only like to purchase earrings with them. Yes, they are a little difficult to press and put on; however, you will never lose the backs of the earrings with this style.

Good Luck!
