Question about sapphires.

i have a three-stone cushion cut and it was a little harder to find than a round or oval. (i tend to prefer square over round in general). imho, the side diamonds - either with side stones or a halo - add pretty sparkles as a sapphire isn't going to have the same fire or scintillation as a diamond.

I LOVE sapphires! I have a sapphire & diamond set, this is a picture of the earring, sorry about the poor quality. I am not sure what cut it is but I find that diamonds really emphasise the colour and bring it out. :D

Yes I agree.

Even with a blurry pic the earring looks lovely

Thanks for the ideas! They all sound amazing... I got the idea for a cushion cut browsing on the natural sapphire company website. Those just looked so fiery to me. Well ... Blue fire anyway.

I am still saving up and sounds like I might have to save more than I originally planned if I go for a bigger size. My fingers are really puny though.. I am only 5'1" and small, but the upside is that smaller stones don't look as small on me. :smile1:

btw TNSC is very expensive! you could contact a gemstone cutter and see what they have in stock?

Oh ok. Thanks for the tip! I was browsing for ideas mainly but I think (I hope) my jeweler will be able to find what I need for less...they make jewelry for birks so hopefully they have good suppliers.

sounds like a great goldsmith! what is the jewellery stores name? you're in Toronto too right?

my favorite and go to is Lorne Park Jewellers in Mississauga

Yes in Toronto. Their name is myersons. Located on queen street, just down from the eaton center. They are the only jewelers I know so thanks for the information!
