Question about Hermes Customer Account Number when shopping in boutiques

Also, does anyone know when H started creating customer accounts? Was it well over 10-15 years ago? Longer? And if Hermes ever marks an account as inactive after years of not purchasing? TIA!

Customer accounts have been started well over a decade ago. When exactly, I couldn’t say as I just don’t remember. There was an update to the system around a decade ago that made some information lost from my experience in France. Other than that, I don’t think accounts get marked as inactive.

Does anyone has any update on this? Both my sister and I also have 2 account numbers, did they change the account number every year? It might sounds silly but that's what we notice. Our account numbers changed on our purchase in 2023.

My account number stays the same since I started my in-store purchases since 2021.
