Hey everyone! I have a concern about the customer account number that is printed on the purchase receipt. I was checking my Hermes receipts and noticed that my customer account number for my latest purchase is different from my previous purchases. All of my previous receipts has the same cust account # except for this time. I’ve always shopped at the same boutique and same SA. I’m worry that my latest purchase might actually got credited under another person that has the same name as me. Has anyone experienced this situation before and is it common to have multiple account numbers?

When you next go in, just ask that any duplicate accts under your name be consolidated. I recalled reading that other TPFers have had this issue too, and found this:

Thank you for your feedbacks. I actually asked my SA about this and they said it’s not really a big deal and no need to worry because all of my purchases will still count. However the strange thing is when they searched my profile with my previous account number they said no result shows up. Also that number is not associated with any customer. So confusing :oh: Now I’m trying to figure out if my new account number will show my previous purchases that was associated with my 1st account number.

Had this happen to me recently. My non-leather purchases went on another client's account (from NY, so a whole different country from where I made my purchase. I don't know how this happened unless that client had shopped in my local boutique). I didn't realize until the next morning and it was quite apparent as the other client's name and address was under the account number.
I called my boutique and apparently they had realized it the night before and "operations" was already on it and rectifying the mistake. On a following visit I was able to confirm that all my purchases were on my correct account and the discrepancy had been addressed.
I'm not sure why your old account number did not show associated with you. Perhaps you might want to speak to the Operations dept as opposed to your SA since the back office would be responsible for this?

Happened to me before. SA said she just consolidated my accounts. Building one strong profile is needed if you want a QB, I was told.

@Book Worm So I initially thought it might have accidentally went under a different client. But my SA reassured me by double checking that my phone number and address are correct. They even sent me a screenshot and all of the info matches. It’s quite strange so I might speak with the operations dept to learn more about the details. Is the operations dept within the boutique itself or did you have to the Hermes customer service number to get in contact with them?

@showgratitude I was told the same as well so that’s why when I realized that my account number was different this time I immediately reached out to my SA. It’s all of these little details that contributes whether your "journey" well be smooth sailing or not.

I got the impression that it was within or somewhere easily accessible (by the boutique).
I was on the phone with the boutique while they put me on hold and spoke to Operations and then ultimately transferred my call to them.

I just checked and my account number for this year’s purchases is different from account number for last year’s purchases but customer name and phone number for both accounts is mine. I am going to check with my SA about this when I visit next.

I have a question that probably has been answered already, I couldn't find it though.
Is your account the same between countries (excluding airport boutiques that are disconnected from main stores apparently) or it's shared? and if shared, how shared - entirely, including online, or by continents (North America, Asia)?

Currently, each client name has one account per country. If you shop in the USA, you will have one account accessible by all H stores within the USA and the US online website. But if you then travel to Canada to shop, they will not find a profile for you. Supposedly the company is working to merge these profiles into one per client worldwide but they are having difficulties due to tech and due to legal privacy laws in different countries. However, they have made some headway with sharing worldwide a client’s number of Birkins and Kellys purchased within that calendar year, although it is still hit or miss per store whether this data is connected at this point.

Thank you, it looks like this global half-consolidation for B&Ks only is counting your purchases against you (to limit the numbers).

Ha I just noticed in my receipts that my customer account number has changed too… wondering if you were able to get any insight as to what happened?
Hello, I think I might have this same problem. Just wondering if you were able to get resolution to, or find out why, there were multiple accounts listed under you.

Very interested to know if you found a resolution as well.

Also, does anyone know when H started creating customer accounts? Was it well over 10-15 years ago? Longer? And if Hermes ever marks an account as inactive after years of not purchasing? TIA!
