I searched for this topic in the forum and didn't find any details, so here goes...

I just pre-ordered a large black tote with oro interior from Barneys. I saw one poster reference that the Oro interior may scratch easily... has anyone else found this to be the case? I currently have a camello tote with royal interior and the blue seems indestructible. Do I need to be more careful with the Oro?

There is some chat about it in our leathers thread, but here's my take.
I have three bags with metallic interiors. Silver, Gold and Graffite. You will be really happy to know that they are not fragile metallics. They have a coating over the top of the finish that does a really good job at keeping it from scratching and scuffing. It's a lot like the matte colors – they withstand wear really well.

I stopped buying mirror-metallic (specchio) Louboutin shoes years ago because they scuffed when you looked at them!

Thanks! That is a relief to learn. I have struggled with metallic shoes and other handbags in the past and was nervous. But the black/oro is so beautiful that I figured it was worth the chance!

I've had my mini bucket bag since March and have used it almost every single day since. there are some scratches, but I've just noticed that the color is rubbing off. Disappointing, but I still love my bag!!

Owner of a black/oro tote here, and it was due to my carelessness that I accidentally scratched the interior with keys. Other than that piece of stupidity on my part, the coating is holding up beautifully.

Oh no! I haven't seen that on my tote, but I don't use it every day. I'm glad you still love it. I would too.

Me, too! After using it almost every day for about 6 months.. My mini bucket's argento interior has rubbed off as well, though I don't really mind it!

Keys! I use a pouch to store my keys and wallet separately so I don't get anymore scratches on the bottom of the bag. But I'm not sure what I did to my bag for the color to rub off near the straps..I've taken to never tightening the straps so we'll see! With that said, I absolutely adore the bag and I do wear the crappp out of it.

Oh goodness thank GOD. I thought I did something terrible to it without realizing haha but I guess it is just normal wear. I did reach out to them to see if they have any idea what it is and (mostly) how I can make sure it won't get worse. I'll post their reply when I get it!

You are not alone! Writing to them is a great idea! I wonder if this rubbing situation has happened to any other non-metallic interiors?!

I imagine it's just your hands going in and out of the bag.
