Quality issues

I bought mine during feb of this year. I have no problems with the quality. Just ask the employee to notify you when one comes available and come in to inspect the bag.

The handful of pieces I bought new online were all fine.
I have no experience with authenticating anything, so I'm a bit hesitant to buy big brands preloved.
Also, the vachetta is often quite battered and stained on second hand bags.

For a classic speedy, I'm in the minority here. If you can get one pre loved from reputable source, I'd go with that option other than new. I regrettably gave my 30 and 45 to my daughter years ago and she destroyed them as she used them every day in high school. I recently purchased a 20 and while I love it, i wish the patina was already darker. I personally love the darker patina on classic pieces and older speedy bags are much better quality than new ones (IMO) so if I were to add a classic speedy to my collection again, that may be the only one i get pre loved if in perfect condition with the darker patina.
If not, get a new one and enjoy the process slowly and carefully.
Post your baby when you get it please.

Thank you so much Loriad
I saw on you tube someone showing her speedy. As per her a mix of both treated and non treated vachetta leather is being used on the newer speedy bags they are manufacturing and as a result one handle of her bag after a few months formed a patina but the other did not. That really scared me.
The only pre treated vachetta on mono Speedys is on the new nano speedys. I messaged you back. Lmk if you have any more questions.

I have 6 bags from LV, and with 3 of them I had issues and hassle, all brand new from store or online. Had to exchange 2-3 times till I got one without flaws (crooked stitching, crooked handles, defect glazing, obviously used bags with scratches on HW and marks on vachetta, defect HW ring etc. etc.)….

So I wish you all the best and good luck! But I think Im done for a while with LV now.:flowers:

I agree. For this price I expect better quality. Think I may take my money to Gucci

So I think too. Im eyeing Polène and Strathberry again. Have few bags from both, they are gorgeous and soooo sooooo beautiful! 100% flawless, nice smooth leathers (esp. Strathberry), beautiful colors (the Polène color palette, stunning!) and absolutely showstoppers! Besides that, Coach is also fine and a save haven

Did you get to the bottom of the treated vachetta handle issue? I believe I've watched the same review as you on a speedy, which showed one treated handle which did not patina when the rest of the vachetta developed a lovely patina. The woman was so disappointed with the bag. It scared me too. I have just ordered a speedy B 30 and am really worried and wondering how I could identify treated handles especially inconsistent handles with one treated and one untreated. Any ideas what to look for?
