Putting old stlye cut gems in new modern setting

It turns out the Victorian setting is not that hard to find in modern replication, so I wouldn't be defacing something really rare.

Get another jeweler. The one who likes his work. It is a standard type of job to create a new setting, re-polish stones and put all together.

I have a three stone ring from the 1920s and one from a few years ago. I think resetting it will compliment the stones. A three stone ring is very classic. Reset it into something you will wear especially if you have a negative connotation to the old ring.

We set old cuts into modern settings all the time! The diamonds should be worn and loved, and if resetting the stones will allow you to do that, then go for it!
