Purse lining, what do you prefer?

1-suede lining
2- Microfiber.
3- And I can do a brushed leather on the backside, but that is my least preferred.
4 - I also like a nice thick rucksack type canvas for an outdoor sporty type of bag.

The first 2 are my preference because I love that soft feel. And overall I do not like any lined bag that has dark black hole material. The lining whatever it may be needs to be light and bright or at least not black. :-)

I prefer materials That are easy to keep clean ie does not attract a lot of dust and such. It is very annoying to see those dirt particles. I guess I prefer smooth leather lining.

I've found that many designer bags have suede lining over leather lining. Do you know why? Is it lighter with suede over leather.
I'm looking to buy a structured tote that comes with the two alternatives and would like some opinion or suggestions, which one you think would be more longlasting, less maintenance, lightest and help maintain the structured form of the bag.

Any help would be very appreciated. (oh and it's an online purchase, that's why I'm not sure regarding the weight)

I prefer leather or suede because it feels so luxurious, but satin or canvas is far more practical since I don't have to worry about what I am tossing in my bag.

It feels like leather can help hold the shape a bit more. But there are far more details that determine the shape of the bag (in the sense of keeping shape). The leather type and construction play a huge role.

A bag feels far more premium when lined with leather or suede.

Doesn't matter as long as it's not crunchy or black. By crunchy I mean the lining that I recently felt on a Stella McCartney Falabella. It felt cheap.

Mostly this, yes. I don't like that crunchy orange signature fabric Kate Spade uses on some of her outlet bags. It does feel cheap. It reminds me of those made-in-China knock-off purses you get in the dollar store. I like soft linings, don't mind a color, but I would agree on not unnecessarily obnoxious.

I just did a survey on this with our user group and they came back with some interesting answers, the main result thought was towards a spring purse, they came back with it should be suede lining because its softer to the touch and light cheerful colours. Practically it makes it easier to see to fish things out of the purse and the softer feel to it gives it more luxury.
