Do you ever see women abusing their bag and you want to scream for the purse police?
I can’t stand when ladies put their bags on the floor. It makes me cringe! And then a few months ago, at the Dr.’s office a woman pulls a fish sandwich out of her designer bag! I’m afraid to put a pen in my purse, food is an absolute No No for me!

Crimes against luxury bags...!?

I'm a criminal. :giggle: I admit it. Particularly with my Louis Vuitton canvas...I actually love the canvas items because the canvas is such a care-free material, and the inside lining can be affordably repaired. I put all sorts of things inside, including food, groceries, etc. I may have done the fish-sandwich thing too, at one point! I put my Totally MM tote on the floor of airplanes (it fits while 'standing up'), then I zip it up and use the side pocket facing me to access things I need such as sunglasses, lip balm, etc. When I get it re-lined, soon, after like 6 years of use, I plan to use one of those organizers inside...and continue to pull out sandwiches and snacks from within.

On the other hand, I'm very careful with my Chanels but they serve a different use.

The usability of LV canvas though, is what makes me really love them. I know it sounds appalling...it's just how I live my life, though.

All of above that I witness a cousin do with her LV tote. I almost fainted when she put the bag on the floor of the ladies bathroom floor because there was no hook on the door. I had to show her how to hang the bag on the top portion of the closed door seam. Pens, loose cosmetics I gently advised her to purchase a cheap plastic supply pouch and use these in her expensive bag. To me it's not a crime or abuse because to each individual its how they value their luxury items.

While I'm not a clean- or a neat freak and certainly buy my handbags to enjoy them and use them and not keep them in a bubble, I like to think I'm careful enough with my nice stuff and don't abuse it.

I wouldn't put my bags on the floor in public places unless I absolutely had to, like in case of an emergency or something like that. But I do carry food in my bags. I make sure that it's in a tight lock container and preferably in a sealed plastic bag as well. Just for extra protection. Or if it's something that won't stain even if brought out of its packaging, like a banana or an apple or nuts I can just put it in a plastic bag and forget the container.

And of course, water gets put in there all the time. I don't like leaving home without having a small bottle of water on me unless it's a quick grocery run or something like that. But I try to keep the bottle vertically, just in case.

Makeup goes into a makeup bag unless it's a small bag and the only makeup I'm carrying is a lipstick. Then I just make sure the cap isn't loose. But powdery or liquid products have to go into a pouch.

And I wouldn't put anything dirty in the bag, no thank you. Like a dirty tissue. If I can't throw it out, a jeans pocket will do just fine.

I don't normally carry many pens and liners, but if I do, I use a separate pouch for those too. Not really for protective reasons, just because I don't like it when small stuff gets spread all over the bag. I prefer to keep small items in their personal pouches. If it's just a couple of pens, I make sure they're not automatic but have a cap and put them in the inner zipped pocket - all of my bags have those.

So far nothing bad happened to any of my bags, thankfully!

Man-handling. It gives me a borderline anxiety attack when I see women extend the flaps on their structured leather bags ALL the way back, or take a structured bag and squish/pinch it in their hands purely to demonstrate how “buttery” the leather is. It’s like watching a horror movie and my OCD brain cannot deal. Also, loose change and food for sure.

I really don't know what the big deal is about putting your bag on the floor or ground. Unless it's a bathroom or movie theater!
It really bothers me when my sister carries bottled water in her bag.
It bothers me when people smoke around my bag.
I don't like having to put it in that container so the court officers can x-ray it.
Also don't think they should be put in the front seat of the carriage when food shopping or just shopping. That's worse than the floor to me.
Using a bag to throw trash in-candy wrappers, used kleenex, etc.

Pre COVID-19 (last year) I was travelling on a train here in Sydney, and in front of me was sitting a young woman w her birkin on the floor... even if it was a fake (i couldn’t tell) i felt sorry for the bag

I have thrown a few groceries in my Neverfull GM now and then, but nothing that wasn't securely packaged and my Neverfull has a bag organiser inside it, as do all my bags. My GM has also been squashed under the seat on plane flights  .
I do let my bags dangle and bash about a bit but they are all vintage anyway. Now, if they were brand new from the store I would probably feel differently.
