Ok, I have heard this last week from a friend in Europe, and just got a call from my SA today to further confirm the changes in Hermes purchase policy!

My SA told me that there WILL BE a restriction on how many birkins and kellys one can purchase per year, which is ONE birkin and ONE Kelly (or 2 birkins or 2 kellys) per year per customer. Customers' purchase record can be seen by any Hermes SAs in boutiques worldwide.

And NO phone orders can be processed. If you pay with credit card, they cannot swipe your card without you being there to sign in person!!

I personally know several people who got way more than 2 birkins or kellys for years!! I know 2 girls who shops in beverly hills store and each of them got 5+ b and k last year.
I wonder if the restrictions will be strictly reinforced on their Vvips.....

I heard that as well, but not in Middle East especially UAE, known some Emiratis (syekh fam) can get 3 B and 4 K from the boutique last month. They dont even have to wait 2 years for their order. Connection? Nephotism? Who knows!

This has been the policy at H for afew years but they couldn't enforce it before as they can't see worldwide purchases. To my knowledge they still can't. However I think (and this has been covered before) it does depend on your relationship with your store.

Yes I have heard this policy before but obviously they weren't enforcing it.
My SA was really serious and said that they had a corporate meeting and everything and that they will follow this rule.
I'm curious if everybody has heard about this lately or had been informed by their SAs just now?

totally agree with Ms Birkin. i believe they can do it within one country but not across countries.

With technology I don't seen why H couldn't enforce it worldwide, if they so desired. Frankly I think it should be one kelly or one birkin per year versus one of each. With inventory so scarce, it's about dang time something is done to spread the merchandise to all the rest of us peons. (No offense to those who have had the good fortune over the years.) Let the mudslinging begin, I've got my armor on and I'm ready to start dodging. . .

Agree! So did anybody who was able to get multiple b or k before got a call from their SA regarding this restriction this year?! Or heard about this?

Really? When is this going into place? My birkin was bought over the phone last month as I couldn't be there to sign. My SA made no mention of not being able to get the other birkins and Kelly's on my list this year. In addition, I just made another phone order this week for an accessory and did not need to be in the store to sign. They overnighted the item same day. Hmmmm...this is very interesting.

I was told this morning by a phone call, and I know another member here was just informed from the same boutique today! I called another local boutique to double check and they said no more phone order either, not even for existing customers. As for the birkins and kellys, that was what I was told! I am hoping other members here can double confirm!!

Yes, It's really happened. I have heard that kind of rumor from few years ago, but I didn't care about it.... BUT! I got a phone call yesterday from my SA about same issue................
I am really depressed,,,,,,,,,, I live in USA,,,,, sigh,,,

This is my experience as well. I haven't heard anything about any new policy -- yet.

I can confirm the two handbag limit a year rule. I went to my local H to purchase another Birkin and they denied me. They went into their system and said I purchased a handbag within the last six months so they refuse to sell me another one.

Yep!! One for spring/summer and one for fall/winter!
