Spam me with your pros & cons about your Chanel vanitys! Do you love it, hate it? Is it functional, versatile, practical? Do you wear it crossbody or on your shoulder? Did you end up keeping or having to sell it? I’ve been doing all my research on vanity’s; I’ve been eyeing it for years but never pulled the trigger on buying one but I get a bonus from my job soon so I feel its time to treat myself! Thank you in advance! Mod pictures are also welcome, it doesnt have to be a specific vanity

I love vanities and I fell hard for the vanity trend when it first started! I tried so hard to get the Chanel vanity back in 2019/2020 but just couldn't get one. Managed to get the LV nice nano and was in love with the LOOK of it, but it didn't come with a strap and unzipping and rezipping the bag was a pain! (sold it) Then I tried the Dior mini vanity on. And to think I thought the LV mini vanity was hard to get in and out of! The Dior mini vanity was WORSE! Couldn't, wouldn't and didn't buy it LOL.

In 2021, I finally managed to get 2 Chanel vanities and I LOVE THEM BOTH. The zip is sooo smooth and they are surprisingly spacious! (more spacious than the LV nano nice and Dior mini vanity) I wore one of them to a formal-ish event last week and held it by the top handle. I didn't feel out of place carrying an "SLG" at all because I think the top handle "fancified" it. :lol: (or at least that's what I think!) The vanities work for me (I pack light) and my wardrobe (mainly maxi and midi dresses, mainly neutrals) so I have no regrets getting them. Will never sell them! I wear my top handle vanity crossbody and my pearl crush vanity on the shoulder (after shortening the strap).

The only con I can think of is getting in and out of the bag. The straps are attached to the top of the bag so if you're carrying it and you unzip it, the bottom of the bag will tip down. To prevent that, I usually hold the bag with my left hand and unzip it with my right if I need something. This bothers many people but I'm totally cool with it. The zips on my vanities are SO SMOOTH, it's a breeze. I couldn't do it so easily with the LV and Dior mini vanities.

I have the old model, classic vanity with chain no mirror, and have pics on that club thread. I still love it but for me it's an occasional bag for a night out. I wear it over the shoulder, crossbody or handheld by tying knots on the chain. I like its retro vibe and tiny logo! If you've been eyeing them for a long time and it's in your budget I say why not?!

I have several and absolutely LOVE THEM too like @jooon .

One of my favourite bags is the square mini but I find the vanity bags fit more and are easily accessible. I just love the fact they are boxy and cute and mini. Mine are all caviar bar one top handle which I may sell which is lambskin as I haven't used it yet. I wear them over the shoulder as not everything looks great on me cross body but with some of them have the option to shorten the strap and attach a pearl strap on. I recently got the sweetheart white vanity and just LOVE the adjustable chain strap on it.

Congrats on your bonus. I think you should definitely get one but they are hard to find sometimes. Please share when you do :flowers: :heart:

I have these two, and love them so much. For me, my collection would not be completed without a vanity. I accept that there are some cons as mentioned above. However, those cons are not serious for me. They give me a different happiness from the way I feel when carrying a classic. About the zippers, I just use 2 hands without any problem. They are quite smooth. I did spend quite some time deciding if I should get my first vanity. I truely understand. I just listened to my heart. If you have been thinking about it for that long, I believe you will be very happy to have one, maybe more, like me :)

I got one and when I tried zipping it up with my 13promax phone in it, it pushed down on the side buttons and made an emergency call on accident if that makes sense. So I had to turn off that feature otherwise my mom would freak out haha. I may just carry my phone when I use the vanity.

I don’t like the regular vanity cases bc they stick out too much (for me) when I wear them crossbody. I have a filigree vanity and LOVE it! It’s less square-ish and lays against my body nicer imo than a regular vanity.

I do like that vanity cases aren’t as common as CF/boys. :smile:

ETA: I mostly wear it crossbody, sometimes on my shoulder, sometimes I carry it by the handle. I find that I can’t really open it with one hand (maybe it’s just the filigree vanity?). I have 2 boys and a CF, and this is my favorite Chanel bag bc it’s the most unique of what I have.

Eek I hope I dont have this problem. I am currently on an iphone 8 plus (dont judge me! how else do I afford Chanel :graucho: ) but will soon upgrade to a 14. In theory they are the same size but the edges are more squared off on newer phones so it had better fit my vanity bags. To be honest most of us now carry our phones in our hand these days....

I echo this. Had 2 different models (one with top handle and one without). Cant stand the opening.. had to hold the bottom base or side to open and close the zipper. Also, cant just leave the bag open (unzipped) coz things will fall off..

Pros: price point

I have the original rectangular
vanity no mirror. Great for just small items card case, some cash and my Samsung Note Ultra fits diagonal in this bag. No problems with the zipper. I do not find it too bulky against my body.
Cons: New prices with taxes some are at 3000.00 and above not worth this price.
