I wrote this in another thread but repeating myself... it was rumoured she wanted the name Lily. I think she should go with that name and then there will be a royal Lily and the other Lily.

I had heard rumor of that too, that they would combine British heritage with Italian heritage in their choice of name. I'm sure it will be lovely. I can think of a lot of great combinations.

With all the great granddaughters the Queen and Prince Philip have , I'm surprised Alice (after Prince Philip's mother Princess Alice of Greece) hasn't featured as either a name or a middle name yet. Last used for Princess Anne and Lady Louise.
I wonder if Elizabeth will be used. It's heavily featured.

Italy is a republic so officially aristocratic titles don't exist anymore since the referendum of 1946, which chose republic over monarchy. Before the referendum, titles could only go to first born males born from married couples. It was only during Mussolini's time, before WWII, that children born out of wedlock could take their father's name but, if the father was an aristocrat, he could only pass his name not his titles.

A lot of aristos still are know by their titles, but only in social circles not officially.

I think this is the best pic I've seen of her. I usually find her and her sister's teeth/mouths distracting. It's like both parents have this trait and the daughters got a double dose of it.
