Prince Harry and Meghan Markle thread

I kindly request that all members participating in the MM and Harry thread dial back the vile rhetoric.

I am not opposed to discussing public personas on TPF, including the constant torrent of news surrounding the couple from this thread. But I find it troubling when their looks are being nitpicked apart to a degree that is just not appropriate.

This thread has drawn criticism over the years, and I discussed it at great length with Megs and the mods. I am not looking to close it down, but the vitriol needs to be dialed back.

My personal feelings about hate threads aside, this ultra-negative vibe is something better suited for other forums, Reddit, or elsewhere. I am holding our community to higher standards.

Thanks for reading.

Oh, yes. Several of them are.
That is interesting about the older British royals given that for years, at least in the US, left-handedness was discouraged in young children. I love William's intent expression as he signs. He's got quite a lefty hook. Probably trying not to smudge the ink. Sophie knows the trick to turn the book.

My paternal grandmother was made to learn to write with her right hand. My maternal grandfather was left handed. If he was made to use his right hand it did not take. My mother, my brother, and me were all lefties. My dad's brother was also left handed. Left handedness was dominant in our family. My brother wrote like Prince William. I either tilt a page but I am more comfortable writing straight down a page. I have however learned to do things with my right hand. I cannot use a scissors with my left hand.

She wishes. GP is "just under 5'10" and slim. Megsy might be slim thanks to Ozempic or dieting, but she's far from that height. She's proven time and time again she can't carry off looks as well as Kate, another tall, thin woman. GP, whether you like her or not, is a "LKRB" (I learned that on the GP thread!) and wears clothes minimalist elegance.
As a shorty myself, I'm also jealous of tall people.
Also if anything it’s a matter of aura and attitude. GP is extremely privileged since she was born and carries that annoying attitude to a T, that’s why she can pull off the LKRB look besides being physically and monetarily blessed.

I always thought M was styled poorly (clothes that do not always fit her/overly loose in some areas; I’m still disappointed about her poorly tailored wedding dress especially) and she makes both poor styling & makeup choices (overly muddy and patchy orange bronzer/tanner on the face but very pale on the rest of her body) for someone constantly in the public eye. So unless she hires a really good Hollywood stylist to give her a complete makeover it’s unlikely her appearance will improve IMO.

I had a colleague who aspired to be stylish and classy. Unfortunately, he had the demeanour of a not very wide-awake dormouse. So his hairstylist would give him avant garde haircuts and he would blink owlishly at us. No, Anthony, that was not a good look for you. (He said we were jealous of his good looks - remind you of anyone?)

Oh, yes. Several of them are.
My parents thought lefties were so cool, and tried in vain to make me left handed. They’d try to reach me to use utensils, pencils, etc, with my left hand as a child, and apparently I would promptly move the item to my right hand. As luck would have it, 3 of their 5 grandchildren are left handed. As Oprah night say, putting things out into the universe might actually make them manifest themselves :P
