I kindly request that all members participating in the MM and Harry thread dial back the vile rhetoric.

I am not opposed to discussing public personas on TPF, including the constant torrent of news surrounding the couple from this thread. But I find it troubling when their looks are being nitpicked apart to a degree that is just not appropriate.

This thread has drawn criticism over the years, and I discussed it at great length with Megs and the mods. I am not looking to close it down, but the vitriol needs to be dialed back.

My personal feelings about hate threads aside, this ultra-negative vibe is something better suited for other forums, Reddit, or elsewhere. I am holding our community to higher standards.

I'm just wondering, who is the abuser and who is the abused?

When I was a kid, there were only two grounds for divorce in NY sate. Adultery and mental cruelty. As a kid I couldn’t fathom what was meant by mental cruelty. The term has been modernized to emotional abuse. I’d say that the Harkles are emotionally abusing his family. What they do to each other is a question.

So true!! I watched (I think) the first 1.5 episodes and I think I accelerated my dementia.

She talks so laboriously it definitely makes me feel like my brain is dying. I dunno how anyone could do the whole series even at 1.5x speed

If true, she is most definitely correct about this!

Longish thread. I remember reading this years ago, but back then even we thought it was malicious gossip as it couldn't possibly be true in its whole nastiness. Now? I think it probably happened exactly like told back then.

Do I think this story has dragged on for too long and it’s deeply cringe- yes
Do I find it all very believable- yes
Is it darkly comic that CWK is saddling herself to her own hearse - yes

But I do think it’s a bit of a double standard this shaming Ivy as a problem child while being so outraged spaniel ears said mean things to Charlotte. Leave the kids out of it.

Nothing disappears on the internet. Just imagine in future, when Ivy is making her way in the world and those she are connecting with Google her name... Sad... She has been promoted by her mother as a mini-influencer ("Ivy has bridal in her blood" to advertise her mother's bridesmaid dress designs) and these bullying allegations will pop up.

I would say she actually wore tights that day and it's the front seam. I must say I am slightly shocked the dress (probably the one confirmed piece of maternity wear and one I'd absolutely buy because I adore the comfort of knit dresses) is so flimsy that it shows not only said seam but also the bra outline. You'd think a maternity line (and that dress is not cheap for most normal people) would know better.

I’m leaning towards the silence being a regrouping, reinventing mixed in with some panic. She is not a person who gives up. Things have not been going to plan and neither of them think spontaneously.

The ones who see through the lies and the ones who support them will not most likely change much. What I find interesting is the amount of general "stop whining" , "ok maybe some of this is true, but they have it better than most so STFU" type comments all over the net. It really does seem that "regular" people even if having been somewhat sympathetic toward them are tired of the privileged duo whining and ready for the entitled brats to go away.
