This is lovely to see.
Years ago I would not have envisioned Edward in such a prominent role and looking so at ease and poised doing it. I think he has gained confidence as he has matured into his role as Duke of Edinburgh. Thankfully his brother made this possible because the Monarchy is enhanced by Edward and Sophie’s increased visibility and participation.
It was fun the other day to see pictures of him kneeling down to gleefully engage with a group of children and then later to be genuinely smiling while pushing a shopping cart full of goods at a charity event. This from a man who years ago sometimes looked ill at ease in public appearances.
