Prince cut diamond (not princess)

I'm always a little wary of diamonds that have that many more facets... 111 compared to 46? I'm curious if that's their attempt to hide something inherently wrong with inferior stones? I don't know enough about jewelry so I could be wrong.

According to literature on the website, the cut is available in colors D to I and clarity IF to SI2, so they're not using inferior stones. You can get it in a .10 stone or a 10 carat stone.

The cut is designed to give an emerald cut more fire, thus the tag line: PrinceCut - The Ideal Emerald Cut.

This isn't like adding extra facets to a round brilliant. Emerald cut diamonds are very plain and that's why they don't have much "fire" or sparkle. There's a lot of "wiggle room" to add facets and putting them in the right places adds brilliance to a cut the had none in the first place.

Very unusual facets... is there a line diagram of the facets? The prince cut reminds me of tapered baguettes the way it appears to run vertically in the stones.

I haven't found any line diagrams for this cut, but they do make Prince Cut baguettes.

Check out all the different diamond shapes HERE! I'm especially impressed with the Lily and Royalcrest for their design.

Yea agree with oregonfanlisa - i think it looks very similar to crisscut diamonds.

They do look very similar, now that I'm looking up the Crisscut. According to the designer's website, the Crisscut diamond has 77 facets compared to an emerald's 46. The PrinceCut has 111.

I love regular ECs but the Crisscut and Prince seem interesting (maybe a bit 'busy'?)...I'm sure it's lively IRL.

I think the trad. EC is serene, I'd like one for my next diamond.

I've never noticed this exact one called a "prince" cut but I do recall seeing cuts like this called crisscut, they seem to be close but not the exact same but a very similar look. They do have more sparkle and are very pretty, but myself, I'm an emerald girl.
