I actually captured his son’s remarks because I thought they were profound in this day and age.

can’t post them because they are linked to a specific campaign but I do think the sentiments of: fight for the right thing, leadership is about service not selfishness, that you can show strength and decency simultaneously and you can get a whole lot more done with a smile than a frown are universal and sadly lacking in all areas of society now.

What a truly honourable man.

even people who don't agree with his politics can't find anything bad to say about him

Jimmy got his marks AFTER he left office and I'll just leave it at that.
President Jimmy Carter won the Nobel Peace Prize in October 2002 for
his decades of untiring efforts to find peaceful solutions to international conflicts to advance
democracy & human rights & to promote economics & social development.
His work for HABITAT for HUMANITY is unparalleled
That speaks for itself & yes, I'll just leave it at that..

One of the best Jimmy Carter stories: Garth Brooks and wife Trisha were in Haiti building houses with Habitat For Humanity. Not their first HFH rodeo but a brutal day, 100 degrees and 100% humidity. Garth finished sheeting a roof and decided to sit in the brand new shade for a minute or so. Just then President walked by, saw Garth sitting down and very seriously said "Do we need to find something for you to do?"

the longest living President in US history
Per the NYT:

“A testament to Jimmy Carter’s incredible longevity: He outlived two of his obituary writers, at The New York Times and The Washington Post. Roy Reed, a Times correspondent who covered the South, died in 2017, at 87. Edward Walsh, a former Washington Post reporter who co-bylined The Post’s obit, died in 2014 at 71.”
