Prada nylon backpack - Would you still wear it?

Honestly Prada nylon bags wear really well and I believe they do stand the test of time. I have one of those small messenger bags and gave it away because I just don't use it but the boutique still carries it.
I do think the question is more the backpack style than Prada nylon. I have 3 kids and would really rather carry a bag messenger-style or over the shoulder than wear a backpack, but that's just me.

I used to love backpacks, but that was ten years ago. A few weeks ago I got rid of the last one I still had, after having seen a colleague of mine (aged late 40's) arriving to the office carrying a black nylon backpack. I am sorry to say, but she looked quite pathetic and out of place....

Having said this, even if I would definitely NOT use a backpack in the city and while wearing more formal clothes, I think it is OK in a more "casual" environment (trip to the park with kids, holidays, etc...) and if you're young and dressed in jeans most of the times (student carrying books or whatever)

I agree with the fact that nothing wrong with Prada Nylon - They are definately under-rated bags, they last forever! However, if you feel you are too old for the backpack style, pass it on to a younger family member or even sell on ebay. It would definately be snagged and you could use the money for maybe a different prada nylon bag (or whatever you have on wishlist)

I do not like the "backpack" look, whether its Prada or not. I think this look is really dated and shows someones age when they follow trends from 10 + years ago. I think the backpack can be saved for someone's kids to use but for use on an adult women I think its an old style that needs to be left in the 90's, courier bags are much more modern and still give a hands free style.

Well, I was never actually a fan of the backpack (Prada or otherwise) except for carrying books in college. I can understand the utility of the backpack, but these days I prefer messenger style bags if I need to go hands free. I agree with some others here that backpacks do tend to look a bit outdated. That being said, Barney's still sells them:

If you are having second thoughts about yours, then you should definitely sell it. If you feel comfortable wearing it, then keep it. I agree that in general, Prada nylon bags are very durable.

(Sigh) nylon bags..love them! I have a nylon bagpack but it is Moschino instead of Prada and yes, I still use it to the gym or when I travel. But my fav and use all the time (to kids ball games, running to the grocery store and also travelling) is Prada messanger. Conclusion - what ever type of bag is fine if used to the ocassion..even backpack! IT IS NOT WHAT YOU WEAR..IT'S HOW YOU WEAR IT.
