Hi everyone
Can you advise the best way to get the frayed lining repaired please? I received a quote from an online restorer and they quoted £450!! to remove and replace the lining by removing the old one and templating It on another lining. But I dont want to get rid of the original lining. Is it possible to get stitched back up? Photos attached. Thanks

I'd take a needle and thread and go to it myself. But then I'm fearless that way. Check out this thread, the first few posts.

I'd do it myself too. The Prada lining is part of the design of the bag. If it was just plain fabric, then replacing it with something inoriginal wouldn't be such an issue. But I wouldn't replace this lining. The tear is near/along the seam, so just cut off all the fraying and stitch it back up. Yes, you would make the bag a bit smaller on the inside, but I don't think it would be particularly noticeable.

And the price quote for the repair they gave you is a bit... over the top, IMO.

Thanks everyone. I’m still thinking if I’d keep the bag - I really like it. Basically bought it off ebay for £300 and the seller did not disclose the fraying/holes and now she’s offering £20 refund. Do you think this is worth it? There are no other issues apart from holes and scuff in corners. :)

If this damage wasn't disclosed, you absolutely should get a partial refund  I think you should accept the 20 pounds refund and leave appropriate feedback, something like 3 or 4 stars and "Undisclosed damage to the interior."

But it is irritating when sellers do that.

Take the money and run as long as you like the bag and you think you could repair it. Do you have any friends or family that are handy with a needle? That's an option too, but again, only if you really like it. I also agree that you should ding them on the feedback. That's a pretty glaring issue not to mention it in the listing.

Do me (and yourself) a favor. Before you commit either way, post this bag (with the appropriate request format) on the Authenticate This Prada thread. Knowing it came from eBay, I'd like to have a look at it.
