Hi All-
I just purchased a cobalt poppy leather large Rocker from the outlet "as-is" since it had some damage to the bag. I was curious whether anyone knew the quality of the leather for this bag?

I love the color and how the leather feels, but I'm wondering if I made a mistake of purchasing it as is...the handles seem a little worn. Is that normal?

Thanks!

Can you return it? Damage is not good when it comes to leather. You can check out this eBay guide if you are interested in restoring damaged leather. http://reviews.ebay.com/Restoring-D...mp-Products-To-Use_W0QQugidZ10000000009140137

All the colbalt rockes I have seen a the outlet has some wear on handles and corners - even the crossbody had wear on it as well.

I honestly do not think it was a damaged item - bc all the bags I have seen in the Rocker cobalt had the same issues.

I hate to say this but my cobalt poppy pocket bag has a ton of 'wear' and I haven't used it that much. The color is coming off in multiple places :( It was in great shape when I bought it.

I'll take some pictures and post them later.

Oh no...does that mean that the leather on the Rockers are not that great?

I believe that since I bought it "as-is" that I can't do anything about it. Thank you for the ebay guide about restoring leather, I will definitely refer to it! :smile1:

When you buy "as is" from the outlet, it is usually a final sale- meaning you can't return or exchange it.

I knew that I wouldn't be able to RETURN it but I was not aware that I wouldn't be able to repair it either... :(

Yes, please send some pictures!!! I'm worried now. Although I can't do anything about it because it's a final sale, I do love the bag. I'm just disappointed since it seems that this particular bag has "wear" problems. Do you plan to do something about it? :(

my cobalt hippie has areas where the leather is peeling and the short shoulderstrap is awful looking, eventhough I never handle it that way. It is not replaceable and I love the bag, so it won't go back though I think this is clearly a manufacturing defect.

OP, when they sold the bag to you, didn't they give you a little cardboard tag with FS on it? They are usually super careful about final sale purchases.

okay I know it might be hard for some to see but if you look above the seam you can see where the cobalt is coming off. It's like this on the strap and the front flap, you can almost see the flap looks crackled on the side. I'll put up another picture might be able to see it better in a sec.

look at the top left of the flap and up by the zipper, it's like this on both sides.

I love this purse, it's perfect for running around and I wear a ton of navy clothes, so I don't know if I'm going to do anything about it. I have only been really using it for a few weeks and I'll keep using it, if a month from now it's really really bad and looks like a purse that has been abused I will take it into Coach, but honesly there is nothing they can do to fix it.

yep, same wear as on my hippie....flaking off kind of like the metallic does. The Hippie was relatively inexpensive....don't know if I'd be able to tolerate it on a more costly bag.

No, the receipt just says "As-is". I don't recall anything being done to the inside of the bag near the creed...

Here is my Rocker handles. It has peeling issues as well. I have only carried it a handful of times.
My handles are starting to look like that and I've only used it for two days! I didn't notice it until I brought it home...I wonder if Coach took back a used bag and re-sold it...It wasn't originally an "As-is" item, I just noticed scuffs and they offered to take a percentage off.

I see it...that sucks. Is that typical of these kinds of bags? I just figured that leather was suppose to be a more durable item...:(
