I don’t know, I had it put away for a few years and maybe a month ago I decided to look up what this smell was and Reddit is what helped me find the info and then I found articles about it and Korea, having a mass recall on it. Also, I think people don’t talk about it because people are quick to be defensive about Louis Vuitton quality And say “I don’t have that problem must be you” and be very dismissive sometimes. I got lucky but lol the backpack that I used the credit for has quality control issues. Yes it’s made USA probably Texas. I looked it over in store, but the lighting was dim and didn’t notice any issues jumping out till I got it in light at home and it was the only one in stock, I always ask so I can compare.I got it out of town. The hole where the buckle is going through is double punched instead of one hole, someone messed up and then double punched it.Theres also is glue on some of the leather( I used an white eraser and it got it up)and indents on the back of the bag( I figured from how it was stored probably will fix itself once I use it) The double punched bothers me,But I’ve tried to get this backpack before and the other one had issues with the canvas. Maybe I’m overreacting the double punch maybe not a big deal but I feel like it’s very amateur. I plan on keeping it because I don’t want to find another Louis Vuitton and then get a different backpack with even worse issues. Also, I feel lucky that they credited me for the wallet so that I should just accept what I got.Wow! You did get lucky! My stinkpot was from that window of time as well (2018). Thank you for sharing your experience. I’m just curious as to why this is the first thread I’ve seen about this? Are people embarrassed or are do many people selling their items before they stink?
